Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes

Consumer Product Review

Thomas J McCabe
On the front label of Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes containers, the words 'America's Leading Sweet Potato' are printed in a box in the upper right corner. After eating these cut yams in light syrup many times, I think that statement is pretty true, as far as canned sweet potatoes are concerned.

Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes are sweet, but not too sweet and they provide an alternative to regular style potato, rice and pasta side dishes. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes

Size
The net weight of the container of Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes being reviewed here is 15 ounces (425 grams). According to the product's nutrition facts label, the container holds 2.5 servings of sweet potatoes.

The pieces of sweet potatoes are medium sized chunks that are about the size of one good bite and their size fits well with other items on a fork.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 15 ounce can of Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $1.39. This price seems quite reasonable to me, considering the great flavor, texture and convenience of this item.

Texture
These cut sweet potatoes are nice and soft, but they are also slightly firm. Some of the other brands of canned sweet potatoes I've eaten tend to be somewhat mushy, but not these sweet spuds.

Each piece of Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes holds its shape well, even when slow - cooked.

Nutritional Facts
Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes contain 180 calories, with 0 calories from fat, per 2/3 cup serving. These sweet potatoes also contain 0 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 0 grams total fat, 0 mg of cholesterol, 36 mg of sodium, 37 grams total carbohydrates, 2 grams of dietary fiber, 17 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein, per 2/3 cup serving.

Taste / Flavor
When it comes to flavor, Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes taste just the way good sweet potatoes are supposed to taste. Their natural, mellow sweetness makes them a great accompaniment to almost any type of main dish.

Seriously, these sweet potatoes taste great alongside poultry, beef, pork, seafood and vegetarian dishes. They taste so good, in fact, that I usually eat a few of them straight out of the can, whenever I open a new container.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of 9.75.

Packaging
Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes are packaged in a metal can that requires the use of a can opener to open. The purplish front label features an illustration of the enclosed potatoes and the rear label lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information, as well as a recipe.

Overall Rating
Sweet potatoes are not just for Thanksgiving and other holiday dinners. Princella Cut Sweet Potatoes are a great accompaniment to many different entrees. This product is highly recommended.

For Christmas dinner I purchased 2 lrg cans of sweet potatoes and upon opening both cans werevery, very small mushie pieces and full of something that was black and some pieces didn't even look like sweet potatoes. On the lids were these numbers-15WC5 13202 15:38, under that wasBB 11 16 14. Both cans had the same number. Rushed to the store and got two more cans with a different color lid and different numbers and they were fine, Just thought you should know that there were some on the market that were not fit to eat.
