Princess Caribbean Cruise

Holiday Guide

TEMPESTWIND 1
On my vacation to the Caribbean I found a waterfall hidden away in a lush rainforest; the stuff of romantic dreams. Beneath the cascade, splashing about and enjoying the feeling on the tropical sun on my face, I felt free. This was part of a special waterfall shore excursion on the island of Dominica - my wife and I were on a Princess Cruise which featured a 15 night Grand Caribbean Islander holiday, and this was the first port of call.

A 15 night Caribbean Islander cruise is a very different kind of vacation with a kaleidoscope of extraordinary experiences to enjoy. A cruise with Princess took us to so many new and interesting places; every morning we threw back our curtains to reveal yet another great adventure for the day ahead. The cruise begun in Barbabod, reached by a direct flight and as soon as we boarded the Sea Princess, we were treated like VIP's.

A Princess Cruise is a very special holiday with luxurious surroundings, attentive service and an excellent itinerary. Our next stop was Antigua, then on to Tortola, British Virgin Islands where there was great flamingo spotting and unfortunately for me, excellent shopping for the wife. The cruise just kept exceeding our expectations and we have unforgettable moments such as Movies under the Stars, with cocktails and nibbles, actually most evenings we would lose ourselves in the complete freedom offered by this vacation.

At sea we had the opportunity to enjoy the ship's excellent facilities. I had a great time being pampered (as did my wife) in the Lotus Spa. I tried honing my golf shots and learned how to scuba dive. In Montego Bay we couldn't resist the excursion to experience the thrill of Dunn's River Falls, with a guide, followed by a delicious Jamaican lunch.

The meals were absolutely brilliant and we both wanted the laid-back approach however any form for dining was there for those who wanted it. The Princess doeshave a deserved reputation for its cuisine with mouth-watering foods and lots of choice. On the homeward run of our cruise was a series of glorious islands, each one more exquisite than the next. Curacao has an excellent cultural mix and is unforgettable.

Overall, the Sea Princess, the enthusiastic staff and cuisine is a voyage to remember and very reasonable. The amenities are luxurious you'd expect from a first class Hotel yet you can always find a little cosy nook to sit and relax with a book. The final port of call was Trinidad and the wonderful wildlife included hummingbirds, honeycreepers and bananaquit - a paradise on earth. I fear that the wife is already booking our next cruise as we speak.
