Princess Diana and the Ritz Hotel, Paris

Kerry Mulherin
It was to be the final evening for Princess Diana and boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed. They dined in style at the majestic 5 Star Ritz Hotel in Paris, France just hours before a tragic car accident claimed their lives. Even now, almost 11 years later, the world still mourns for 'our Diana'.

The Ritz, Paris truly is fit for a Princess.

It is owned by billionaire Mohamed Al Fayed, Dodi's Father, who lovingly restored the 110 year old building twenty years ago. Mr. Al Fayed also owns the world renowned Harrod's department Store in London and was a friend of Princess Diana's late Father, Earl Spencer.

The History of The Ritz, Paris:

In 1898 Cesar Ritz was inspired by the location where the opulent Ritz Hotel now stands. He built this structure of architectural magnificence, which is comprised of three main buildings. It sits proudly at 15 Place Vendome in Paris, France and shares it's prestige location with high end stores such as Armani. There is an eye catching view of the statue of Napoleon, and it's a mere five minute stroll from the world famous Louvre.

Lodging And Entertainment:

The Hotel boasts a magnificent selection of prestige rooms and suites which are tastefully decorated in classical French style. Upon entering the foyer and being ushered to your room, you are greeted with fresh flowers and delicious French Champagne. Bathrooms in your chosen Suite are afforded luxurious marble and brass hardware and are adorned with swags of expensive gold fabrics and intimate seating by the mantled, crackling fireplaces. The Hotel Ritz, Paris was home to Coco Chanel. One of the ten luxury Suites is named for her, another is the Windsor Suite. Connoisseurs will be impressed by the Restaurant L'Espadon, or you may visit the famous Hemingway Bar, named of course in honor of Ernest Hemingway himself. Here you can indulge in some Vintage Champagne, imported beers or Scotch Whiskey presented to you by world renowned bartender Colin Field. The walls of the Hemingway bar proudly display photographs of Hemingway's favorite vacation destinations across the globe.

Services:

Transportation via Limousine can be arranged for your arrival from the airport. Your Concierge will arrange your flight reservations, limousine service or your next business conference in the 150 person capacity Executive Meeting Room, allowing you time and privacy to relax in the lap of luxury. A Valet service is of course available 24 hours a day, as is full room service. You may wish to swim in the huge indoor pool, visit an in-house beauty salon or sip French Champagne while sitting in the soothing, scented bubbles of your whirl pool.
