Princess Royale: An Upscale Hotel in Ocean City, Maryland

Do You Want to Vacation Away from the Partying Teenagers?

Arthur Kirk
As summer approaches many families are looking for somewhere to stay in Ocean City, Maryland. One of the best hotels if you want to avoid the teenage crowds near the inlet is Princess Royale in Ocean City, MD on 91st Street and the beach. Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland is not a hotel for everyone. It is priced at a rate that will keep most of the partying teenage crowd out of the hotel. This is good news for families that are looking for a hotel to stay at this summer in Ocean City, Maryland. The Princess Royale is a hotel right on the beach that gives you the comforts of home, while giving you those extra luxuries you look for with a beach vacation in Ocean City, Maryland.

As a family, one of the things we hate most is ending up in a smoking room, considering we are non smokers. Well, the great thing I like about Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland is that you don't have to worry about the smoke smell there as it is a completely non-smoking hotel. Combining that with the fact that the Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland is right on the beach and those are two things that put it in my list of favorite beach hotels in Ocean City, Maryland.

Of course being right on the beach is a major selling point for Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland but this hotel truly takes advantage of that location. For those of you that want to enjoy the scenery but stay out of the hot sun there is an indoor pool with a 4 story sky atrium window overlooking the beach. This gives you those great beach views without burning in the hot sun and ending up with sand in your swimsuit. For those of you that enjoy the sand and sun of the beach you will be happy with Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland as well. With being located well away from the boardwalk you are removed from the crowd that comes to Ocean City, Maryland on day trips. You are also removed from the wild teenagers that come to town and party in the inlet area on the southern portion of Ocean City.

The rooms at Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland have all you need for your family for a visit of a couple days or an entire week in the summer. There is a full kitchen including a dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker in your room. This year they have even added 32 inch flat screen LCD televisions. Rooms range in size from small one room units for two adults up to 3 room suites that will sleep six adults and four children. Rates vary widely in the summer. Keep in mind this is an upscale hotel and the average rate runs from $150 up to $475, with the 3 room suites only available for weekly rentals at $3,950 a week. Keep in mind you can spend well over $200 a night at lower quality hotels in Ocean City, Maryland during the summer, so the Princess Royale in Ocean City, MD gives you luxury and the comforts of home which others don't offer at a comparable rate. Off season rates drop to $59 to $565 per night for a room including the three room suites.

The only disadvantage I can see with Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland is that the location on 91st Street is a long distance from the boardwalk at the inlet area. This means you will need to drive or take the bus. The good news is the buses in Ocean City, Maryland are clean and affordable with a price you can pay to ride all you want for one day. Parking at the inlet if you choose to drive is much more convenient these days than it used to be in Ocean City, Maryland. The parking lot is no longer based on meters. They removed them and created more spaces with hourly and daily parking rates.

Princess Royale in Ocean City, Maryland gives you a great hotel choice for your family removed from the hectic crowds of the boardwalk and inlet areas.

  • The hotel has a full kitchen available in your rooms which can save you a lot of money.
  • The location on 91st Street keeps you away from the late night noise of the boardwalk/inlet area.
  • Each room has a 32 inch flat screen LCD television
Don't worry about being removed from the action of the boardwalk area. There are plenty of restaurants and entertainment options in the northern part of Ocean City, Maryland as well.
