Private Investigator Video Games

Be Just like Perry Mason or Sherlock Holmes and Get All the Facts and Clues!

Jessie Kay
Ahh, the life of a private investigator-hiding out in a black van, wearing a fake mustache and snapping photos and shooting videos of your subject. It sounds glamorous and exciting, but let's face it: the majority of us can only dream of having this job. Instead, us PI hopefuls toil away at our desks, dreaming of the day we could be a real-life Perry Mason. But there's hope for us, in the form of private investigator video games. Play a virtual hard-living, middle-aged PI by loading one of these games on your computer.

Agent Heart Private Investigator Game
Many real-life private investigators take on cases of cheating spouses. In "Agent Heart Private Investigator" you play a female private investigator, Agent Heart, who's hot on the trail of Chad, a cheating husband of Kelly, one of Heart's clients. Throughout the game, Agent Heart must collect enough compelling evidence to prove philandering Chad is cheating on Kelly. Heart must visit a dance studio, Chad's work, a parking ramp and a hotel lobby to snap pictures of Chad. "Agent Heart Private Investigator" is a free game available on PlayerBlock.com and is playable within your Internet browser.

Touch Detective
Available on the Nintendo DS, "Touch Detective" throws you into the role of MacKenzie, a new detective. MacKenzie has been assigned four cases within her city. Her cases include helping a friend figure out why she can't dream anymore and saving the winter snow fairies from the upcoming spring. The game features cartoon graphics and is aimed at players age 10 and older.

Cruise Clues: Caribbean Adventure
Track down a crazy jewel thief aboard a cruise ship in "Cruise Clues: Caribbean Adventure." This game, available from Big Fish Games, is available for the PC and Mac. You play the role of detective Angelina and must roam around the cruise ship looking for hidden jewels. She must use clues from people she encounters on the ship to help her find the bounty. When the ship docks, Angelina can roam around the island and look for bonus items.

Diner Town: Detective Agency
A spinoff from the popular "Diner Dash" video game series, "Diner Town: Detective Agency" stars slow-eating Bookworm Bernie, from the Diner Dash games. In this game, Bernie opened his own detective agency. His business just opened and he already has his hands full with cases. Cases include figuring out who stuck a finger in a batch of jelly donuts to determining who partied all night with the zoo animals. Each "crime scene" has clues that help you figure out "who done it." "Diner Town: Detective Agency" is available from Big Fish Games. Big Fish Games offers a free, 60-minute trial, or you can purchase the game for $6.99.
