How this team was able to put it together was through lightning in a bottle. Whether or not, it can translate into a possible team to beat in the division is another story. Given that they won the division just last season, they would be an easy pick to say they're going to repeat. They are lead by Drew Brees as the Quarterback for the team, whom has adapted well and has helped win games for the team. He can give any team a good amount of yards and keep you in offensive wise. The defense has been able to keep the team from losing games and that's the important factor. While Carolina might be a challenge, New Orleans will actually go to the playoffs in back to back seasons.
Projected Finish: 1st
They ended up the season winning the last two games pushing just at the .500 mark. While it's not the most ideal place to be, it was enough to keep them in 2nd place just above Atlanta. This team was at the Super Bowl just once in their history losing to the Patriots in the process. They have Carr on the team, the former #1 pick of the Texans but that still will not be enough for the division. Carolina needs that ever so important team chemistry in order to really be successful. The potential is there but it probably won't be enough to overtake New Orleans.
Projected Finish: 2nd
To say that last season was bad is an understatement it was pathetic. Tampa Bay had won the Super Bowl just 5 years ago and now they've been reduced to garbage? Well, that shouldn't happen twice actually as there is a team that could actually finish worse than them and they will be next on the list to mention. Regardless, they now decided to try to improve their chances as a team and this is going to be the upset pick for the NFC South to not finish last. Give them something but it won't be a good season for them, as they need the chemistry to get it together and get their heads in the game.
Projected Finish: 3rd
No Michael Vick as the Quarterback most likely not for the season due to his scandal so that is going to hurt the Falcons somewhat. He has been the star of the team and it was built around him. The question will be can the Falcons do something shocking and surprise everyone? Most likely the starter will be Quarterback Joey Harrington, whom has not lived up to the expectations put on him early in his career. It's on him to be the QB of the team and he won't be able to do so. It might be a shock if they go far, but it doesn't look to be this year for the Falcons. They'll have to wait yet another season before they get back to the post-season.
Projected Finish: 4th
This season however doesn't see much of a change between the NFC South and looks to have two teams switching positions as to the 3rd and 4th place finishes. The Saints have the team that looks to be in the best shape out of every one of them and it would be no shock if they contend for the NFC Championship game. That's all for the NFC South, coming up will be the NFC East.
