Barack Obama
is a candidate for change,
offers newfound hope
Running mate Biden
offers his experience
and often sharp tongue
Barack Obama's opponent in this election is war hero McCain, who's image has changed since siding with President George W. Bush after losing to him in the 2000 primaries. Criticisms of McCain include his advanced age, his reluctance or refusal to answer certain questions, his alliance with Bush, and his choice of a running mate, Sarah Palin.
Here is John McCain
He's running for president
With unknown VP
Sarah Palin - who?
Alaskan small town mayor
and then governor
Foreign policy?
Distance from Russia - that's it
She can see Putin?
McCain likes her spunk
The media is enthralled
But is Palin fit?
The vice president,
next in line for president-
not a stress-free job.
Honestly, McCain-
You'd be oldest president
Age is an issue
As the president,
could Palin handle the job?
Could we trust in her?
Biden has temper,
he does not mince any words,
can be ornery.
But let's be honest-
Biden has experience
and with both parties.
If Obama died,
Biden could step in with ease,
and lead our country.
If Palin could not,
then do the Republicans
know who would step in?
If the president
and the VP cannot serve,
Speaker of House will.
That would mean party shift
and the administration
would change drastically.
Nancy Pelosi,
the Speaker, and Democrat,
would rule our country.
Does Pelosi know
how many houses she owns?
McCain seems unsure.
When asked this question,
he can't tell number of homes
he currently owns
Instead, he recalls
being prisoner of war
but that doesn't help
The country applauds
his heroism in battle
and McCain's service
However, McCain-
Answer the questions we ask
Respect our interest
Also, why is it
when Hillary was running
for the president
Media attacks
about cleavage and pantsuits
were all abundant
And now with Palin,
and her teen pregnant daughter,
inexperience-
All criticism
denounced as sexist and rude?
Easy double standard!
The tone of the Democratic National Convention was of hope and optimism, while the one at the Republican National Convention was one of cynicism, derision, and mockery. Even Palin's popular speech was laced with jabs at Obama's message of change.
All Republicans
who were at the convention
in the twin cities
Mocked Obama;
his community service,
his message of hope...
What is their message?
It is more of the same for us;
it is not a change.
Negative world stance,
struggling economy,
tax cuts for the rich,
Pollution rising,
unemployment rising too,
never-ending war.
I choose Obama
the USA needs a change
and he will bring it.
