Pro Wrestlers Gather Support for Troops

Mat Wars: A Night For The Troops
Neighborhood: National Guard Armory
Huntsville, TX 77340
United States of America
This holiday season, as in many recent years past, America will have many homes missing key parts of their family. Fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends of many people will spend their holiday season overseas on duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, amongst other stations... It is our duty as Americans to make sure that not one second of our holiday season leaves us ungrateful or unappreciative of the sacrifices being made by these brave men and women of our Armed Forces.

Across the country, many fundraisers and charity events are taking place to honor these soldiers and that the freedoms we enjoy in America will never be in jeopardy. To ensure that you can sit at home and read this web page at your leisure and then head inside and share some time with your loved ones.

So while they are out of sight performing their duty, it's now our duty to make sure they are not out of mind.

It will be impossible to make our soldiers feel at home this Holiday Season, But it is imperative that they know we're unwrapping our gifts with appreciation of their efforts in mind. Across the Nation, Many great people are spearheading care package shipments to different branches and divisions stationed overseas.

And the same, love-filled effort will be exhibited here in Texas. We've got local deployed soldiers over there and we've got to do our best to show them some love and appreciation.

Nick Guidry, 29, serves as a Sergeant in the Army National Guard. Eager to help in raising awareness and funds for the cause of sending care packages to our local deployed soldiers he has organized an event to do just that.

Professional wrestling has, for years, been a great way for Americans to escape from life's problems and enjoy some wholesome entertainment with friends and family.

With that in mind, Sgt. Guidry asked his peers in the Texas Wrestling Community to come together and do something for the troops. And in quick, overwhelming fashion, many of the state's finest have agreed to perform solely in honor of the people making it possible for them to wrestle in the first place, Our soldiers.

Wrestlers, announcers, promoters and even fans from all over the state of Texas have been doing whatever they can to help this event come to fruition. And the solution is in professional wrestling.

You get to see different styles and different wrestlers that usually wouldn't meet in the ring, do so... as the Texas pro wrestling community presents MAT WARS: A Night For The Troops.

With brilliant lighting equipment donated by members and promoters of the wrestling community, Amazing Wrestling Talent from the state's best, Volunteers working hard to serve in every way possible to build the event and a production crew to film it all.. This night WILL be very special.

Some would regard the efforts of the event a success already...

A night when people come together for a cause dear to everyone's heart. Let go of their problems for a few hours and enjoy some wrestling.

And 100% of the proceeds go to benefit local deployed soldiers. All tickets for this event are only $5.00. For the price of admission you get an action packed wrestling show, a chance to meet and greet with the stars... And the extra satisfaction of knowing that every penny you paid goes to making the Holiday Season for our Soldiers full of love and appreciation.

It's our intention to include DVD Copies of the Event in the care packages to our soldiers... More reason for you to make it out with all of your friends and family and get loud for our troops on camera.

Mat Wars: A Night For The Troops takes place on Friday, November 20, and will be held at the National Guard Armory, 2702 Sam Houston Ave., in Huntsville, Texas. General admission tickets for the event are $5 and are available at the door.
