Many paranormal investigators will look down on people who do not believe in the paranormal. Too many of these investigators will be rude and pressing about their views on those aspects of the universe that many people do not believe in.
There are many paranormal investigators that will attempt to use inferior equipment in their investigations. This equipment will not be able to give the correct readings that they should.
There are also many paranormal investigators that have no clue how to correctly use the equipment that they use. Also, many of these investigators do not understand how to evaluate the information that they have gathered. This lack of knowledge will make these investigators appear to be uneducated in their own field.
There are way too many paranormal investigators that conduct an investigation as a believer. A person who goes into a location believing everything will set themselves up for finding whatever they are looking for. Just like the old saying says, "If you look for something hard enough, you will find it."
These paranormal investigators will believe that every creak in a house is a paranormal occurrence. They believe that any piece of dust that appears in a picture is an ectoplasmic orb. They believe that every over exposure on a piece of film is actually a ghost.
Paranormal investigators that look into investigations with a critical eye counter the negative aspects of many of the other paranormal investigators. If a person looks at something with a critical eye, he or she will be more likely to be able to debunk any possible issue that might come up.
Not all paranormal investigators are undereducated in their own field. There are many people that truly do what they can to investigate the paranormal to find out the truths that we have not been able to find yet.
Those investigators that fit into the qualifications that were mentioned earlier should try to be more informed, and critical about their chosen field of investigation. They should do what they can to try to bring the beliefs about the field into a higher light. They should do what they can to make sure that there are not as many people that laugh at paranormal investigators.

Post a CommentHehe, I live in Montana. When you are with friends in an abandoned house and the air temperature suddenly goes from 50 to 70 for 1/2 a second, chances are someone farted....:)
that's one reason why I find TAPS to be unique. not only are they investigating the paranormal but they are also looking specifically to debunk things like squeaky doors, banging pipes, light anomolies and what have you. good article!
