Problems with Voting Machines on the Rise

Beginning early this morning, scattered reports started coming in from across the nation, citing voting machine malfunctions and difficulties. As the day wears on, the number of reports has continued to rise.

Virginia has had reports of electronic pollbooks failing. Optical scanners have been experiencing operating problems due to wet ballots affecting the machines, "Apparently what is happening is some of the problems that are occurring is voters coming in out of the rain with wet hands and wet clothes, reports the Washington Post.

Philadelphia is receiving reports from polling places throughout the state that did not receive their voting machines at the polling places assigned. Others have arrived, but are not in working order. "We received one report that a line has reached more than 500 people, as reported by openleft.com.

Ohio is also mentioned in this same report, as experiencing multiple problems, In some area polling stations, there have been reports that none of their machines are working.

West Palm Beach Florida joins the list of long lines of waiting voters. Several voters at one location phoned WPTV NewsChannel 5, " County election officials were unable to explain why, but it appears there may be a possible computer issue at that voting precinct " states WPTV . Elsewhere in Florida WPTV news Channel 5 has reported some voters receiving error messages when casting their ballots.

In Boston reports of voters being dropped off the registered voters list are pouring in. One voter, standing in line estimated, " Ten percent of the other people who were there at the same time as me gave their name and address and also found that they were not listed." reported one woman in line to a Boston ABC affiliate reporter.

In New Jersey, voters had to resort to paper ballots, due to problems experienced with electronic voting machines in some precincts. In New York city, the Board of Elections spokeswoman, Valerie Vazquez-Rivera reports "people began lining up as early as four a.m. at some polling places, to avoid long lines, leading to erroneous reports that some sites were not opening on time," as reported by sify.news.

As the day goes on, reports are sure to continue coming in regarding this situation. Thousands of lawyers are monitoring polling stations across the United States, as Americans step up, and do their duty, voting for the next President of the United States of America.

    My sticker said that my vote counted but I believe that dang machine was broken.

    Yet amazingly, right now none of the major news networks are questioning the vote counts or polling results!
