Shea Butter
The main ingredient in many popular lotions and firming creams is Shea butter. Shea butter is valued for its ability to heal wounds, protect the skin from extreme temperatures, stop itching, stop allergic reactions to the skin, and heal stretch marks. Shea butter that is available to you at the grocery store is bleached, and is full of preservatives. This form of Shea butter is also full of preservatives and is highly processed. Look for natural organic sources of Shea butter for your skin care.
Seaweed Soap
Cleanse your skin with soaps that do not strip your skin of its natural oil. Avoid daily use of harsh antibacterial soaps as your whole body cleanser. Seaweed soaps firm and tighten your skin with regular use. Even if you stopped using the soap, the firmness level that you have will stay. Sea weed soap can be purchased online or at health food stores.
Read Labels
Always give some thought into what you are purchasing. Just because the label says natural ingredients, it does not mean the natural ingredients you are looking for are prominent in their formula. When looking for possible products for firming your skin looks at the ingredient list. Avoid purchasing products with petroleum in them. Petroleum clogs your pores. It may give the appearance of hydrated skin, but it is not effective in tightening or firming of the skin. If you are looking for certain nourishing ingredients, see what items are listed first. If Shea butter is the 7th ingredient, there is not much Shea butter in the product. Also take note of how many preservatives are listed on the ingredient list.
The closer your firming cream is to it's natural state the better it will work. Firming lotions and creams that are based on organic nuts, spices, and oils will work better than products that are highly processed with unnatural ingredients. Use a natural firming cream to see better results in your skin tone, texture, and elasticity.
