Here are several important recalls for the month of July. These recalls have just been recently posted to the CPSC website.

The first recall we will look at is children's hooded jackets and sweatshirts recalled by Hard Tail. The recall is due to a strangulation hazard they present. Consumers can either remove the draw string from the clothing or return the clothing where they purchased them for a refund.

Next, Wilton Industries have recalled their tea kettles. There is a hazard of being burned. The lid has been known to come loose from the kettle so therefore posing a burn hazard. There has actually been 25 cases documented where the lid has come loose and the consumer has experienced 2nd degree burns to hands and fingers. As with all recalls if you have one of their tea kettles you are urged to immediately stop using it and take it back where you purchased it for a refund or replacement.

This next recall is very important, in my opinion. Kidde is recalling their Dual Sensor Smoke Alarms. It is the Kidde Model# PI2000. It has been found to not warn of a fire in some cases. If you do have one of Kidde's Smoke Alarm you are urged to contact Kidde at #877-524-2086 for a free replacement.

Another important recall that could potentially effect a wide range of consumers is Kolcraft is recalling 1 million play yards due to fall hazard. They are saying that the side rail can fail to latch properly therefore posing a hazard. Kolcraft has received 347 reports of the rail not latching properly which has resulted in 21 injuries. Kolcraft suggest that you contact them for a free repair kit. You can contact Kolcraft at #866-594-4208.

Craftsman is recalling their lawn tractors. There have been reports of the parking brake failing which can cause the driver to lose control of the tractor. The model numbers they are recalling are: #917.289080 and #917.289081. Consumers can contact Sears for a free inspection and if need be a free repair of the parking brake cable. You can contact Sears at #800-978-7615.

Simplicity has recalled their Drop Side Crib due to the possibility of death from suffocation. The cribs plastic hardware can break or come apart causing the drop side to detach. If that happens it creates a space between the drop side and mattress and an infant can get caught in that space. Consumers are urged to return the crib where they purchased it for a refund, replacement or store credit.

Aqua Leisure has recalled their inflatable baby floats due to a possible hazard. There have been reports of the leg straps in the float tearing causing children to slip out of the float. There have been around 31 reports so far of this occurring. Consumers are told to immediately stop using these floats and contact them for a full refund. You can contact them at #866-807-3998.
