Product Recalls for May 2009

There are several important recalls that have just recently been announced. Recalls I thought needed to be repeated. This article will go over several new recall notices of some important products. These recalls could effect you.

The FDA has just recently issued a warning about the popular weight loss product Hydroxycut. The FDA states that they have received numerous reports of liver related health products. They are warning consumers to immediately stop the use of Hydroxycut. If you are currently using Hydroxycut they ask that you return the product where you purchased it. Source: fda.gov

There have been several food products that have just recently been recalled. Pistachios that are labeled under King Henry Inc. have been recalled. The FDA has stated that the pistachios have the potential of carrying Salmonella. For more information about this recall you can contact King Henry Inc. at #661-295-5566. Source: fda.gov

Mayfield Dairy Farms has recalled it's Mayfield Homemade Vanilla Select Ice Cream. The ice cream could have been possibly contaminated with ammonia. The recall is for all 1.5 quart containers. Source: chicagotribune.com

Children's Jewelry Craft Kit produced by Action Products International has been recalled due to the risk of lead exposure. The recalls are sold under the names "Abalone Necklace item# 67117 and "Venetian Carnevale Necklace item# 67118. If you own these craft kits you should return them to the place of purchase for a replacement. Source: cpsc.gov

The Gap has recently recalled their BabyGap children's coats. They are stating that the toggle on the coat can break off and become a possible choking hazard. The coats were sold in 3 different styles. Rose Toggle Hoodie style# 600298, Pink Duffle Coat style #600344, and Blue Plaid and Mojave Toggle Coat style #600942. The coats were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months. Consumers should return the coats to the Gap for a full refund. Source: cpsc.gov

Hair dryers have also been recalled. The name of the hair dryers are Special and Narita Hair Dryers. The CPSC states that the hair dryers are not equipped with an immersion protection device which can prevent electrocution of the dryer falls into water. (I didn't even know there was such a thing). This recall involves the following model numbers. Special model# EX-1800 and the Narita model# TE-263. These numbers are printed on the hair dryer.
