We love the holidays and we love to decorate for Christmas, however we do not like to put extra holes in the wall just for the holiday season. In fact, we avoid putting holes in the wall for anything whenever possible! 3M Command clips, hooks and strips have been there for many of our home decorating needs, and now they are also there for all of our Holiday Decor!
We bought a set of Command Medium Hooks to hang our Christmas stockings this year. Not everyone has a fireplace or mantle to hang stockings, so why not hang them directly on the wall? Forget about putting holes in the wall, just use these plain white hooks. To use, put the command strip on the back of the hook, position the hook where you would like it and stick it to the wall. Remove the hook part and the strip will stay on the wall. Push the strip against the wall for about 30 seconds. Wait an hour or so before use. The Command Medium Hooks can support up to 3 pounds each which should be plenty for each Christmas stocking - unless you plan to really spoil your kids!
If plain white is too boring for you, 3M also sells decorative hooks for a few dollars more. We bought some of theCommand Traditional Brushed Nickel Finish hooks to hang a blanket and photo in my daughter's room. These hooks look nicer and no one would guess that they are just stuck to the wall with a command strips. Decorative hooks come in multiple colors and styles so you can get what you really want. These hooks can also hold 3 pounds (or more!) so are ideal for hanging Christmas wreaths and other decorative accessories.
We can't forget about Christmas lights! Putting lights in the window used to involve nails, staple guns, or other things that caused holes in the wall. Once the holes were made, people are generally stuck decorating in the same way every holiday season so as not to make MORE holes. 3M Command Decorating Clips Value Pack let us hang our lights around 2 windows without all those messy holes! Next year we could take all the clips and put them in different spots as we see fit. The decorating clips are small and clear, with a clip just big enough to hold a few wires for your Christmas lights. I put them all the way around my windows, about 1 foot apart. After they were applied, and I waited the 1 hour as directed, I was able to easily clip my lights all around the windows.
Holiday decorations and Christmas lights often come with plugs that are dangling around your house. To clean up those plugs, and keep them more organized, try the 3M Command Cord Clips in various sizes. These clips let you run your cord through them and stick them to various places on your wall so that the cords are not just laying around everywhere. Keep your cords neat so no one is tripping over them! It will also keep nosy kids from noticing them and grabbing at them.
At the end of the holiday season, all of these hooks can easily be removed. Just pull on the end of the command strip until it slips off the wall. Your walls will be damage free and ready for new decor. The hooks can be saved and reused and all you need to do is buy some Command Strip refills. We plan to leave the hooks around the inside of our big window because they are barely noticeable. Next year putting up lights will prove even easier. All the other hooks and clips will be removed and boxed away with the Christmas decor, waiting for next year.
With 3M Command Strips you can decorate for the holidays without putting holes in the wall. This means you could hang everything in different spots every year! Talk about freedom! Instead of being stuck in a decorating rut, with holes in the wall, buy 3M Command products to decorate this year. Not only will decorating take a lot less time, but you will also be left with damage free walls when the season is over.
