Product Review: Aeropostale Jeans

Allison
When looking for a good pair of blue jeans there are thousands of possible choices. A few of the many things you look for in a pair of jeans is comfort, fit, style and price. Often times you may have to settle for less in one area in order to get the right fit. I knew this and am always in search of the 'perfect' pair of jeans. Aeropostale jeans seem to fall into the near perfect category, but after a few wears, these jeans were really disappointing.

I went to a new store in our local mall called Aeropostale. This store looked inviting with its music playing over the speakers, sales people ready to greet you at the door and many 'Sale!' signs up in the front. I went straight to the jean section to try on a few pair. There were about ten different styles to choose from, all of which were very 'in style' at the time. I was impressed with the choice of sizes ranging from 00 on up. Each size was available in 3 different lengths, which was great for me. It is sometimes hard for me to find jeans long enough to wear with tall boots. I grabbed a few pair in different sizes and lengths to try on. After trying on these jeans, I realized that each style fit differently. I did find three pair that I really liked and that fit really well. I was impressed with this place. The best thing about these jeans that fit so well was the price. Under $30 each! I left the store happy with my new find.

After wearing each pair of jeans one time, I washed and dried them according to the directions. What I discovered during the second time I wore them was disappointing. When I first put the jeans on, they still fit great. After an hour of so of wearing them in a normal fashion, they were considerably loose. Most jeans will stretch a little during wear and will become a little loose by the end of the day, but these jeans were horrible. After just one hour I could not keep these jeans up without a belt, and even then the rear-end and thigh areas were still very loose. I tried washing them in hot water and drying them every chance I could thinking they would shrink some and fit better. Not so. They may have shrunk some, but the material that they are made of allows them to relax too much during wear. I would not recommend these jeans to anyone.
