Product Review: All Free and Clear Detergent

The Best "Free" Detergent for the Price

Miss Faith
Do you have children or do you personally have sensitive skin? If either applies to you then you need to use All Free and Clear laundry detergent. My skin is highly sensitive to fragrance and dyes, so when I came across All Free and Clear, I was in heaven. The fragrance is very light and there is no dye in the detergent to irritate the skin. The reason I first began using All Free and Clear was when my little boy was a little bigger and there was no real use for Dreft of Baby All anymore. I didn't want to take the risk of his skin getting irritated from over-fragranced and dye-filled detergent. That was when I came across All Free and Clear.

After searching various retailers, I found that there are many different brands that offer dye and fragrance free detergents, such as Tide. However, after trying All Free and Clear one time I decided to only use it. Why? Not only does the product have a very light clean scent, but it is cheaper than Tide and some of the other brands available. As far as stain removal and cleansing ability, All Free and Clear is able to stand up to the best regular detergents. Plus, it is specially formulated to remove everyday allergens such as dust mite matter and cat dander (which would be even better if I owned a cat). According to the Center for Sensitive Skin Care, only around 17% of people with sensitive skin are aware that the dyes and fragrances in their detergent can actually be part of their problem. So, the Center for Sensitive Skin Care highly recommends the use of All Free and Clear by those that have any sort of skin sensitivity. Another really big bonus is how All Free and Clear is recommended by 4 out of 5 leading Allergists and Dermatologists.

So where can you find All Free and Clear for sale? In general, I find the cheapest place to buy All Free and Clear is either at Target or Walmart, since they tend to have the same price of around $3.99. Sometimes if I'm lucky I can find it for around $3.49 at Giant Eagle grocery. Also, keep your eye out for coupons in your Sunday paper or online at various websites. The relatively cheap price of All Free and Clear is approximately $0.13 per wash, compared to the next lowest price of Tide Free at $0.21 per wash. So, if you have children, have sensitive skin or allergies, or if you don't really care for the strong perfumed smell of regular detergents, I would definitely recommend trying All Free and Clear.

I purchased a 110-load bottle of All Free and Clear from Sam's Club a few weeks ago. I put it on the shelf and only touched it to do laundry. Last week, I returned home from work to find that the detergent bottle spigot had fallen apart completely of its own accord. The stopper had simply fallen out of the spigot and was sitting in a pool of detergent on top of my dryer.

Detergent was everywhere. It had spilled from the top of the dryer to the floor behind and under the washer and dryer. It had not yet reached our water heater and furnace, but it was close.

I was 18 weeks pregnant at the time and almost slipped and fell on my laundry room floor--not good! It took my husband and me over 8 hours of billable time to clean up the mess. We are independent contractors--we have wasted over $600 worth of time on this mess.

We had to completely disconnect our washer and dryer and move them to clean up the detergent. Not only that, but the detergent had leaked down into our dryer'

Great review! I use this product when I run out of my homemade laundry soap. I make my own soap and mix it up with washing soda and Borax for a very nice, gentle cleanser. All Free and Clear is a life saver for my daughter and I who have allergies to dye and heavy fragrance oils.
