Almay intense i-color trio for browns promises all day wear with vibrant color that will not crease or fade. Almay intense i-color trio for browns also promises to bring out the brown in eyes in an intense way.
Almay intense i-color trio for browns contains three complimentary colors: lavender, dark brown and light brown. Almay intense i-color trio for browns also includes instructions for application on the package that detail where and how to use the included colors for the best effect. I liked the results that I achieved by following the instructions. However, like many pre-assembled eyeshadow compacts the instructions of where to apply the color were included on the packaging and not on the compact itself. This could cause confusion for some users if they throw the packaging away. Almay intense i-color trio for browns does alleviate this problem somewhat though by placing the colors in the compact in the order that they are supposed to be placed on the eyelid.
I liked the results I achieved by following instructions as to eyeshadow color placement, but felt the application order suggested was awkward. Applying the eyeshadow in the order suggested: lavender first on lower eyelid, dark brown next applied to the eyelid crease, finished with the lightest color, light brown applied to the brow bone takes some practice to achieve.
After several attempts to apply the eyeshadow in the order specified I gave up and found what I feel to be a better way which was applying the eyeshadow to the same eye areas indicated in the instructions but applying the Almay intense i-color trio for browns colors in order from lightest to darkest.
The light brown eyeshadow color included in the almay intense i-color trio for browns is meant to help open up your eye area. It is a very light and creamy shade of brown. Unlike the lavender and dark brown included in the almay intense i-color trio the light brown is very sparkly. The light brown eyeshadow's beautiful and heavy shimmer looks fabulous when worn, however it makes it difficult to apply this color last since the slightest misstep when applying it after the dark brown placed directly below it is really obvious. I rectified that problem by applying the light brown eyeshadow first, because any mistakes made with it are easily covered up when applying the dark brown shadow.
I chose to apply the lavender eyeshadow next. The lavender eyeshadow is concentrated, vibrant color with a very subtle shimmer to it. The color actually looks more like a subdued amethyst than lavender. The instructions say to apply the color to the lower eyelid, and I was impressed by the effect the lavender had in bringing out the brown in my eyes. The color was intense but Almay's shade did not make my eyes appear smaller as can often happen with darker shades of eyeshadow.
I applied the dark brown eyeshadow last since the dark shade worked well at covering any mistakes I made with the light brown and lavender colors. The dark brown shadow was much more than the name Almay gave it implied. I found the color to be more of a very dark shade of bronze with a slight shimmer to it. The instructions included on the Almay intense i-color trio for browns packaging said to apply the dark brown shade to the crease of my eyelid to not only bring out the brown in my eyes but also give my eyes extra definition. I found that the eyeshadow worked well for this purpose but also discovered that the dark brown did an excellent job when used as a smoky eyeliner.
Almay intense i-color trio for browns costs roughly $6.00 to $7.00 depending on where you purchase it. I found Almay intense i-color trio for browns to be an excellent value since a little of the eyeshadow went a very long way.
Almay intense i-color trio for browns also kept its promises for long-lasting wear without creasing or fading. I will happily purchase this Almay product again in the future and recommend it to anyone who wants to bring out the brown in their eyes. Almay intense i-color trio for browns did a wonderful job at bringing out the brown in my mostly green eyes so I expect the effect would be even more intense on people with very brown eyes.
