Product Review of Arbonne International Ginger Citrus Bath Products
Indulge Yourself with Arbonne's Bath Products
I received a collection of the Arbonne International's Ginger Citrus Bath Products last summer as a gift. Arbonne International is a fairly new company selling skin care, make-up, bath and many other beauty products.
The set I received included the body wash, sugar scrub and body butter, all in the Ginger Citrus scent. They are packaged generously, the body wash at 12 fl. ounces, the sugar scrub at 16 ounces, and the body butter at 12 ounces. More than enough to last a couple of months, even with regular use.
I tried the Ginger Citrus Body Wash first. I was immediately impressed with the thick texture of the body wash and the rich lather it created. The ginger citrus scent is almost spicy and very invigorating, as the label claims.
The Ginger Citrus Sugar Scrub has a luxurious feel to it. There is something almost indulgent about this product, with its little stirring stick used to mix the ingredients that separate upon sitting. The resulting mixture is a thick, grainy product intended to exfoliate and hydrate, all in one.
I wanted to love it, but I did not. The scrub itself irritated my skin. I have used sugar scrubs before, so I do not think the sugar grains were too harsh. Rather, I tend to think it was something in the liquid part of the scrub-perhaps the citrus additive-that caused the irritation to newly exfoliated, sensitive skin.
Also, the liquid in which the sugar is saturated is just too greasy. I first used this in the bath and quickly learned the error of my ways. My bath water became oily, and my greasy skin was sluicing off water as efficiently as if I were a seal. I had better results in the shower, when I was not submerged in the rinse water from this product, but not much better. It still left my skin downright greasy. And I had to scrub the bathtub after each use so my husband would not slip on the slippery remains left behind by the scrub.
The scent of the sugar scrub was not as pleasant as that of the body wash. I think it was just too saturated. It was not nearly so light and refreshing.
My opinion of Arbonne's Ginger Citrus Bath Products was quickly redeemed when I opened the Body Butter, though. The body butter has a light, but rich feel to it. It moisturizes very well, lasting all day. Skin is soft and smooth, not sticky or oily, once the body butter is applied. And the scent is just as lively and invigorating as it is in the body wash.
I am now a loyal Arbonne International customer. Although I do not use the sugar scrub, I continue to buy the Ginger Citrus Body Wash and Body Butter. I love the scent and the luxurious quality of these indulgent bath products.
