Product Review: Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant

Arm & Hammer Unscented Stick Deodorant Delivers Protection Naturally

Will Stape
I've never been a spray deodorant user, nor the gooey roll on kind that can get messy. I'm a stick deodorant man. Arm & Hammer baking soda has been a trusted icon in homes for years, so when I saw Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant stick, I had to try it. I've used this product daily for over a month. I'm glad to report it's more than lived up to its maker's quality reputation.

Performance & Scent

We're all different when it comes to body perspiration. I'm not overly sweaty, but I don't stay desert dry either. A good deodorant is essential personal hygiene care for everyone, however that unique underarm perspiration quotient can certainly affect how we react to the use of underarm deodorant.

I've sworn by many name brand deodorants for years, and have saved money by using house brands from pharmacies like Rite Aid, Duane Reade or CVS. Bottom line to all my deodorant testing has been a decidedly mixed results pursuit.

I've used great, but high priced brands, or cheaper less effective sticks. For me, the less scent the better, so Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant scores nicely in the odor department. It does have a smell - a faint, fruity scent. The smell reminds one of Fruity Pebbles or Fruit Loops. So yes, despite the claim that it's unscented, there's a definite smell to the product, but it's only a subtle fruit scent, nothing too overpowering or too much like actual perfume.

This deodorant's performance really impressed me. Not only does it last all day - depending on your activity level and climate - but unlike many other sticks I've used, there's no side effects. Ever get really itchy or feel a burning sensations under your arms after using a deodorant? I've reacted like that to many of them. Using Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant for weeks now, and there's never been a day where my armpits burned, nor did I feel itchy at all.

Summary

Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant performs well under the pressure of perspiration, smells just right enough to be pleasant, and didn't cause me any burning or itchiness like other stick deodorants. It's available at retail and supermarket stores for about $4.00, and compliments the Arm & Hammer name of dependable products for consumers.
