Product Review: Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Shampoo and Clay Conditioner

I started going to an Aveda salon about a year ago when my regular hair stylist quit her business. At first I was a little overwhelmed at the prices and thought the services and the products were a bit overpriced. But after my first few visits, I fell in love with the Aveda salon and some of their products. I have been a loyal Aveda product user since and I always look forward to my hair appointments every eight weeks.

I have very fine, thin hair so I am always searching for products that will give my hair more volume, bounce and life. When I expressed my desires to my Aveda stylist for fuller hair, she recommended two of their products: Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Shampoo and Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Clay Conditioner.

Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Shampoo

I hesitated slightly when purchasing the Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Shampoo because of the price. The shampoo costs $14 for an 8.5 fluid ounce bottle. But the stylist assured me it was worth the price and I told her I was taking her word for it. The next day I used my new shampoo and the first thing I noticed that I truly liked was the scent. Aveda products are certified organic, so the smell is what I describe as a very clean, natural scent that is not full of perfumes. Aveda uses a certified organic peppermint to give their product that unique scent that lasts for hours. I notice after I wash my hair with this shampoo that people will comment on how nice my hair smells. I have never had that with other shampoo brands. I have been letting my hair grow long so even though my hair is fine, I still have a lot of it because of the length. I did feel that I had to use a little bit more of this shampoo to make a nice lather compared to some cheaper brands. The volumizing shampoo contains certified organic acacia gum from Africa that makes your hair fuller and thicker. My hair definitely appears to have more fullness after using the product for an extended period of time. Overall I have been pleased with this product and will continue purchasing it.

Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Clay Conditioner

When I purchased the shampoo I also purchased a bottle of the Aveda Clay Conditioner. The conditioner also sells for $14 and it comes in a 6.7 ounce tube. A bottle of the conditioner lasts a lot longer than the shampoo because it is so thick. I have only purchased two bottles of the conditioner compared to several bottles of the shampoo. You only need to use a small amount for it to be effective. I find that when I use the conditioner my hair combs out a lot easier. It also has that great organic, clean smell that I like so much. The Aveda Pure Abundance Volumizing Clay Conditioner is made with kaolin clay from England and also contains the certified organic acacia gum from Africa.

I have never been the type of person to stick to one product for very long but I have found it different with these Aveda products.
