Over the years, I never cared too much for any of Avon's fragrance line. Skincare, lotion, bath oil, soap, nail polish, that sort of thing - absolutely - but the fragrances just didn't seem to be anything special. It was not until a cousin of mine became an Avon representative that I discovered my new favorite fragrance for every day use, Candid. I was given a Zip-Loc bag full of product samples, and Candid was one of the first ones I tried. I've gone through two bottles of it in two months time, which is proof of how much I like this wonderful new discovery.
Candid is a blend of fresh jasmine, rose, sandalwood & vetiver. If you're wondering what vetiver is, it's a perennial grass that is native to India. Candid is considered to be a floral/woody scent. The bottle is made from clear glass, with the product name spelled out in large red letters. Topped with a good-sized red lid, it is an attractive presentation. Candid has been around for a while, so it could be considered a true Avon classic. It's a very soft and feminine scent, and seems to last a good four hours or so before fading. I would not consider it to be a strong scent, so it is perfect for daily wear, and for women of any age.
One great thing about Avon fragrances is that they come in many varieties. Candid offers cologne, bath gel, moisturizer, deodorant, body spray, and powder, which makes it possible to layer the fragrance all over your body. This makes the scent last much longer. Of course, it depends on the individual as to how long a perfume or cologne will last on their skin. Differences in the skin (oily or dry) or an individual's personal PH level will all make a difference. Women with dry skin will notice that any fragrance will not last as long, where those with oily skin find that the extra moisture of their skin helps to hold the fragrance for a longer period of time.
Candid is a very reasonably priced perfume, as are most of the Avon products. A gift set of this fragrance would make a nice surprise for a friend or relative this holiday season.
