Product Review of Banquet Homestyle Bakes: Creamy Chicken & Biscuits

Paula Myers
I went to the grocery store hoping to find something quick and easy to cook for supper. The bright red box of Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Creamy Chicken & Biscuits looked inviting. The box had a large picture of chicken stew and vegetables with two biscuits on top. It looked delicious. The box also stated that the chicken was included. That's really convenient and easy. We love anything with chicken and vegetables in it at my house. I purchased the Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Creamy Chicken & Biscuits and bought it home.

Anxious to make the Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Creamy Chicken & Biscuits, I read the back of the box. Inside of the box had 2 large cans of Hearty Vegetable & White Meat Chicken Stew and 1 pouch of the Biscuit Mix. All you have to add is ½ cup of water.

I followed the directions on back of the box. I preheated the oven to 400 degrees. Next, I got a small bowl and dumped in the biscuit mix. I added ½ cup water to the bowl and stirred the biscuit mix and water until it was moist just like it said to do. I pulled an 8" x 8" baking dish out of my kitchen cabinet and added the 2 cans of Hearty Vegetable & White Meat Chicken Stew to it. Next, I dropped nine spoonfuls of biscuit topping onto the stew. The directions said to bake in the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the biscuits were golden brown. Then let stand for 5 minutes. I followed all of the directions.

In my oven, it only took 27 minutes for the biscuits to cook golden brown. The Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Creamy Chicken & Biscuits filled the kitchen with a wonderful aroma. Everyone in the house was wondering how long until supper was ready. I took the dish out of the oven and let it stand for 10 minutes. It smelled delicious.

The Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Creamy Chicken & Biscuits tasted very good for a boxed dinner. It had big chunks of chicken, lots of vegetables in a creamy sauce, and nice, fluffy biscuits on top. I wish it had just a little less salt in it though. I don't like a lot of salt. I thought this dinner turned out really good. It was so quick and easy to fix. There was a list of suggestions on the side of the box to add more homestyle flavor to it if you wanted to. It said to substitute ½ cup sour cream and 1 egg for water. Or you can sprinkle warm biscuits with shredded Cheddar cheese after you bake them. Those sound like some really great ideas! I will definitely buy Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Creamy Chicken & Biscuits again. I'll also check out what other varieties of Banquet Homestyle Bakes they have. If you need to cook something quick and easy tonight for supper, buy this box dinner tonight.

I bought the Banquet Homestyle Bakes Dumplings and Chicken and prepared it according to instructions. I was very disappointed because it had 1560 mg. of salt Per Serving! It was so salty we threw it out after tasting it.

We just fixed Banquet's Country Chicken, Mashed Potatoes & Biscuits Homestyle Bakes. It was wonderful! We loved the mashed potatoes on the bottom and it was a picture to see come out of the oven. The biggest plus was that it was delicious as well. We added a cup of mixed vegs to it and it was better than a pot pie. We'll definitely buy more!

i was using the homestyle chicken with biscutis and liked it very much but i can no longer find it in the stores i do not like it because you cut it down to one can of chicken and put potatoes in instead and you spoiled a good thing i will not buy it untill you take the potatoes out and resume the 2 cans of chicken

I just made Banquet homestyle bakes chicken and dumplings. HORRID!!! Saltiest crap that I have found in a long time. I think I am going to be ill. I have a foot of snow in my yard, and put it out for the freezing hungry animals, and its still there. (imagine that)! Wow, buy real food, and make it from scratch.

I was visiting my parents in Minnesota recently, and we decided to try the Banquet Homestle Bakes Dumplings and Chicken. It was so salty, none of us could eat it! We each took one bite, and through it out. That won't happen again!!!

Hello. Tonight I tried the Chicken and Dumplings Homestyle Bake from Banquet. The chicken was all white meat. It was delicious!! The dumplings came out fluffy and flakey. The "chicken" stew mixtures was totally delicious. The gravy was tasty. My daughter loved this meal and she is the pickiest eater on earth! I will definitely be buying more Homestyle Bakes.
