Product Review: Better Made's Cinnamon Churros

Better Made is a snack company based out of Detroit, Michigan. They have been around for over 77 years. They sell a wide variety of potato chips and other snacks. I recently discovered one of their newest snacks, Cinnamon Churros.

What is a Churro?

It is dough made with thin tube in a star like shape. They are then coated in cinnamon and sugar after they are fried. The word churro originated in Spain. The name comes from its shape, which is like the horns of the Churro breed of sheep.

What are they like?

Cinnamon Churros are described on the front of the bag as "Crispy Sweet Twists." I found that a better way to describe them would be to compare they to Taco Bell's Cinnamon Twists. They are just like them and if you pop them in the microwave for 10-12 seconds, they can be warm just like Taco Bell's too. They are the same size as them and look just like them.

They are sweet and have a cinnamon sure mixture covering them. The Cinnamon Churros are about 3 inches long in length and have 3 sided twist to them.

Nutritional content:

They consider a serving size to be one ounce which is about 20 pieces. In that one ounce there is 8 grams of fat, 18 grams of carbs, an 150 calories.

How do they compare to other cinnamon snack?

I consider myself to be a cinnamon snack connoisseur. I have done reviews on other cinnamon snack and I like to try new ones any chance I get. Considering all of this, the Cinnamon Churros rank right up there with the best of them. They have a great cinnamon taste, perfect texture and are light and fluffy.

Where can you get them?

If you live in Michigan, they are available at grocery, drug, and convenience stores. Outside of Michigan, distribution is limited. You can buy many of the Better Made's snacks on their website, which is www.bettermadesnacks.com, but i did not see this product in their online store.

How much are they?

The only size I have ever seen was a 2.5 ounce bag and it sold for 0.99 cents. This is a pretty standard price since this comes stamped on the bag right from the factory.

Overall, I would say Better Made's Cinnamon Churros are a great snack if you are looking for something sweet and crunchy. They are so light and crispy that it would be very easy to eat the entire bag in one sitting. I think they are unlike many of the snack products on the market in the chip aisle of a store. They are cheaper in comparison to other more nationally known brands such as Frito Lay or Tostitos.
