Product Specific Information
Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel is a greaseless, stainless, pain relieving gel with a vanishing scent. It provides temporary relief from minor aches and pains of sore muscles and joints associated with arthritis, backache, sprains and strains.
Biofreeze contains natural menthol as a cooling pain reliever along with an herbal extract called ILEX paraguariensis. With Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel it is not necessary to rub or massage the product into your skin. Just apply a thin layer to the painful area, no more than four times a day.
Benefits of the Product
In my opinion the benefits of Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel are the fact that you do not have to massage the product in and also that the product has a vanishing scent, meaning that the scent that you smell when you first put the product on will gradually fade and you will not be able to smell the products scent. Unlike most muscle rubs on the market today, Biofreeze's vanishing scent is a definite plus in my books.
My Experience With the Product
I first tried Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel just a few weeks ago when my Chiropractor gave me a bunch of samples. The gel is nice because it does not sit on your skin or soak into your clothing. The gel soaks almost instantly into your skin and does not leave that greasy feeling associated with so many other muscle rubs on the market today.
Things I Would Change About the Product
I have found that Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel only works for a short period of time and does not work to the degree that other muscle rubs I have used do. In other words, it was not very effective for me. I did feel some immediate relief but have felt greater relief from other muscle rubs I have used in the past. This product seemed kind of weak to me.
I also noticed that as soon as the scent of the product wore off, so did the pain relief. Biofreeze provided me about two hours of pain relief and that was it. I then had to reapply the product to obtain anther two hours of relief. The package states that you are not to use this product more than four times a day. Well, for me that would only be eight hours worth of relief per day. Biofreeze Pain Relieving Gel, not worth it in my opinion.
