I give the sprayed item 24 hours to thoroughly dry, and although it probably does not need another coat, I give it another coating of Bitter Apple (R) Spray for good measure. Your cat or dog may be twice as evil as the average pet (I say evil affectionately, because it is just natural for pets to be curious and playful). Using 2 coats of Bitter Apple (R) Spray may be overkill, but I figure it is twice as strong and lasts twice as long.
