Product Review: BodyForm Total Fitness Platform

The BodyForm Total Fitness Platform is a home exercise device that allows you to work your entire body within a small package. The product costs $149.95 from Brookstone. While I would not suggest you use this product as your only form of exercise, it is a handy device to have for days you do not feel like going to the gym or it is too snowy for an outdoor run.

The BodyForm has 15 exercises that you can do to work your entire body. The product comes with a colored workout guide that shows you how to do the exercises and recommends an order to do them in. I hung this guide on the wall next to where I use it so that I can reference it whenever I need to. The exercises are comfortable to do and do not require you to lie on the floor. They focus on your arms, chest, back, shoulders, legs, hips, and obliques.

The BodyForm is an oval-shaped object that you stand on with rubber bands that have hand grips to use for resistance. To use it, you stand on the platform and pull on the tension cables. It is flat and slides easily under a bed when you are not using it, which is great especially if you live in a small apartment.

There is a resistance dial that lets you change the settings for each exercise from 5 to 70 pounds, so the machine will grow with you. I've only been using mind for a couple weeks and have found that I already need to turn up the resistance.

The only problem that I can think of associated with this product is that the bands may eventually wear out and need replacing. I haven't noticed this happening yet with mine but I haven't been using it very long.

The BodyForm is quiet to use which is nice if you like to watch TV or don't want to disturb other members of your household while exercising.

I have been using mine for a couple weeks and have already noticed a difference in my muscle tone. As with any exercise regime, you have to be willing to work at it to see results. Overall, I recommend this product for people who do not have a lot of time to exercise or want to use it to fill in when they can't make it to the gym. I still suggest you do some type of cardio along with using the BodyForm.
