Product Review: Bore Foaming Face Wash

Jennifer Burss
There is a veritable sea of skin care products out there on the market. Creams, lotions, gels, astringents, and potions all exist for us to spend our money and treat our skin. As you may know from reading my previous article on an Olay skin care product, I have yet to find a skin cleanser that suits me. Skin care is a very important thing, especially if your skin can be highly sensitive and acne prone at the same time. I have tried multiple products in my lifetime and different things have worked at different times of my life.

In my pre-teens and teens it was very oily and astringent products worked well. Throughout my twenties products containing a bit more moisturizer have worked well. Now, though as I approach thirty I notice my skin and body starting to change slightly. My skin is drier than it ever has been, my pores larger, and fine lines around my eyes are starting to appear. Although this is hardly among the largest of my concerns but it does get annoying. I doubt anyone likes the all physical effects of aging.

Recently, I sought out a product to replace the plain soap I was using after my bad experience with the Olay product in my previous skincare review. The product I found to replace my soap was Biore Pore Minimizing Face Wash.

This facial cleansing product cost me around six dollars for a small tube of about five ounces. It worked well for me for the first week and a half or so, however my skin began to become immune to it in a way. The cleanser also had a hard time rinsing away.

Despite its (or probably because of) the products scrubbing micro beads and bizarre fruity scent this product made my face sticky and began to be difficult to rinse off. Although at first a little went a long way, I kept needing to use a larger amount as I used the face wash longer. The micro beads are also very annoying after a while, getting caught in any facial opening available-nasty little plastic buggers.

In conclusion, I would not recommend this product to anyone. It was very much a bait-and-switch kind of appeal. It works well in the beginning, but doesn't deliver in the long term. I am beginning to wonder if plain soap and water is not the best route.

I agree. I have tried so many facial cleansers and keep coming back to Dove soap and water. Nice job on this!

Thanks for your thoughts on this product. I also like to check out different facial foaming products, but some are not effective on me either!
