The worst thing about treating my nasal congestion is the way I feel the next morning after taking sinus medication. I like to take medications at night. When the body is resting, the medicine can work more effectively. Unfortunately, when I wake up in the morning, the after effects of the medicine kicks in. My body feels drained. It takes a while to get my bearings as if my brain is still asleep. My nasal passages have benefited from the medication, but by the time the rest of my body returns to normal, its noon. I bought a box of Breathe Right nasal strips and tried them out. As soon as I attached the strip to my nose and lay down, I felt a difference. I didn't have to sleep with my mouth open and wake up with a sore throat. One small strip allowed me to avoid feeling groggy in the morning.

Breathe Right nasal strips can be found in most drug stores and chains like Wal-mart and Target. The strips come sized for small/medium noses and larger noses. Most adults fall in the category of small/medium. The strips also come in the original tan color or clear for sensitive skin. The clear strips are also less noticeable when worn during the day.

Read the package directions carefully. Breathe Right nasal strips must be properly placed on the nose in order for them to work. A suggestion: find the spot on your nose for the strip before you remove the paper backing. Once you put the strip to your nose, I don't recommend repositioning it. The natural oils on your skin prevent the adhesive from sticking again.

Breathe Right nasal strips are safe for all ages. My youngest son has allergies and nighttime is particularly difficult on his nose. He would have to breathe through his mouth at night to keep hair moving. A Breathe Right nasal strip took care of his nasal allergy problem and offered him a restful sleep.

I still use non-drowsy medications during the day to deal with nasal congestion. At night, I use Breathe Right nasal strips for nasal congestion relief without medication.
