The Pros - Positive aspects of California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath
Eco-friendly
California Baby Bubble Baths are environmentally friendly and are made from all natural ingredients. Made from vegetable-based, non-chemical bubbling agents, they are free from synthetic ingredients. The organic and sustainably grown ingredients keep these products from being a drain on our ecosystem. The aromatherapy scents are produced through pure essential oils. The environmentally friendly aspects of these products is more technical in some ways than I can outline here. Their website gives great information on what environmental benefits there are in the products. The most important part for me is that they are free of harsh chemicals and are healthier than synthetic blends.
Parent-friendly
California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath is formulated to be extra mild, tear free and non drying. It can be used for infants, children and adults. The special non-irritating bubble bath does not cause yeast or bladder infections like so many traditional bubble baths do. The aromatherapy scents of tangerine, sweet orange and chamomile soothe and calm babies and children as well as helping to relax adults. The bubble bath does not leave any scum or residue in the bath tub, either. I love the scents of these bubble baths and I am able to use them as body wash as well since they are so mild.
Kid-friendly
The bubbles make bath time fun, but the best part for my children has been the bubble wand that is included with each bottle of California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath. They love blowing their own bubbles in the bathtub and spend most of their time in the bath giggling.
The Cons - Negative aspects of California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath
The Price
Unfortunately, Eco-friendly and organic products generally cost more than chemical laden products. California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath is no exception to this. For me, this is the biggest drawback to this product. It ranges in price from $12.49 for 13 ounces at Diapers.com to $13.99 for 13 ounces at Target. Higher prices can also be found at health food stores and high end groceries. If you compare this price to a traditional baby wash such as Johnson's, it is at least 3 times higher for the same amount of product. However, compared to other environmentally friendly and organic/ herbal remedies it is reasonably priced. For me, the price is worth it to have no chemicals touching my child's skin and helping to keep our earth healthy in some small way.
Availability
You are generally not going to be able to find California Baby products in your local grocery store. In my area, the only place that I can go into a store and purchase California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath is Target. I usually choose to buy it from Diapers.com, although you can also purchase it directly from the California Baby website. In some areas, you may be able to locate it in high end grocery or drug stores, health food stores or specialty shops.
Bubble Longevity
The last down side to California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath is the fact that the bubbles do not last as long as traditional bubble baths do. The bubbling agents that are used in this bubble bath are organic in nature, so they are not as effective as specialized chemical or synthetic agents. You need to swish and agitate the water to get a good amount of bubbles to form and they just do not last as long. This is not as much of a concern for me because my boys want to be able to see their toys and not get bubbles all over them. They prefer to blow bubbles! However, for some people this could be a big disappointment.
Overall, I really love California Baby Overtired & Cranky™ Aromatherapy Bubble Bath. I use it to wash my toddlers, I allow them to play with the bubbles and take advantage of the calming and soothing properties of the scents. In fact, I use this bubble bath myself when I have had a tough day! If you are looking for an Eco-friendly and gentle bubble bath for your child, then this may just be the right product for you.
