For those of you who aren't familiar with the Camel Crush concept, it's actually pretty simple. When you first light a Camel Crush cigarette, it tastes a lot like a regular Camel Light. But, the filter of the Camel Crush cigarette contains a special bead which contains minty fresh menthol flavoring. At any point while smoking the Camel Crush cigarette, you can pinch the filter and crush the bead inside to turn the cigarette from a regular into a menthol.
The first time I lit up a Crush cigarette, I was surprised at just how "normal" it tasted -- just like a normal light cigarette. After a minute or so, I grew impatient and decided to "crush" the menthol bead inside the filter. It took a lot of force to crush the bead, and you could definitely hear a click and feel it when it was finally crushed. The next puff of the cigarette had a slight menthol flavor. But the puff after that had a strong yet pleasant minty fresh flavor. As I smoked the rest of the Camel Crush, I was taken by just how fast and distinctively my light cigarette turned into a menthol.
I have to say I enjoyed my first pack of Camel Crush cigarettes. Besides for giving smoking a new flavor, the cigarette turns into a conversation piece as you explain to your smoking buddies how the crush feature works. One warning though...I did not smoke menthol cigarettes before Camel Crush, and I recently had a regular Camel Light and found myself trying to crush the filter and missing the menthol flavor. You might find yourself permanently switching to Camel Crush cigarettes from your normal brand.
I would never encourage anyone to start smoking, and by all means quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health and to prolong your life. But if you're going to smoke, give Camel Crush cigarettes a try. You might be surprised by how much you like them. Also, if you are on the Camel mailing list, keep your eyes peeled for coupons in your mailbox that can be redeemed for Camel Crush cigarettes.
