Product Review of Campbell's Lite Chicken Gumbo Soup
Campbell's Has Changed the Label of Their Original Chicken Gumbo Soup and Gave it Less Calories
In fact, on my next shopping trip to my favorite Publix Supermarket I searched for a lighter soup and came across their Chicken Gumbo Lite Soup. I placed it into my shopping cart along with my usual soups and continued with my shopping. I could not wait until I tasted it. I wanted to write a Product Review on Campbell's Chicken Gumbo Lite Soup.
The next day I made myself a cup of the Campbell's Chicken Gumbo Lite Soup. While it was cooking in the microwave I made myself a tuna sandwich and a fresh pot of coffee. When the bell went off in the Microwave, I took out the hot soup and placed on the table along with the rest of my lunch and a cup of the freshly brewed coffee.
The soup tasted great on the first sip but on the second sip it began to taste spicy. By the time I got to the fourth spoonful, I immediately spit it into the sink. It was so hot to taste that I threw away the remaining soup, and finished eating the remainder of my sandwich with the cup of coffee. The soup had too much spice in it. I felt as if my tongue was on fire.
This is my Product Review of Campbell's Chicken Gumbo Lite Soup. My son-in-law, loves spicy foods. The hotter the better for him. He eats and cries at times because the food is so hot. Then he says it is delicious as he dries his eyes. In fact, if you enjoy spicy foods you will also enjoy this soup.
I gave Campbell's Chicken Gumbo Lite soup a user beware rating-for being spicy.
However, those who love spicy foods will love the taste of this soup. It started out as delicious but got hotter with each taste and lost me as a customer. On the other hand, You might love it!

Post a CommentI have had some delicious homemade gumbo soup that was not too spicy~Didn't know Campbell's had produced gumbo soup~Probably I will not purchase since I don't like hot, spicy foods~Thanks for the info~
Yum!
excellent review
Wow...this is good to know Sondra. Great work.
Thanks for the warning.
I think this would be one canned soup that I'd like.
I missed you, Sondra. Don't seem to be getting your publish alerts. I'm going to sit down and read your stuff with a sandwich and soup, but it won't be Chicken Gumbo Lite!
I know someone who will love it. Thanks!
Fewer calories=fewer pounds.
I do love spicy foods. I wonder if the gumbo is made with whole-grain rice. I apologize for being out of the loop for a while on AC. I had several paying writing gigs to take care of.
