The kids and I were in the organic aisle of the local grocery for the third time in a week. We always head straight for the Cascadian Farm cereals. We were just about to pick up a box of Clifford Crunch and a box of the Cascadian Farm Raisin Bran. What was that? Ooh, Cascadian Farm has a new cereal for us to try and it sounds really good. Vanilla Almond Crunch is a very appealing name, isn't it? By the title and the pictures on the box, we assumed it would be great. With vanilla being one of our favorite flavors, they immediately had us hooked. Not to mention the fact that we have loved every product we have tried from Cascadian farm. We threw it in the cart along with the other two cereals and headed for the checkout stand.
The following morning, we all could hardly wait to taste the cereal. Our brains and our mouths were fixated on it. The youngest, a two year old boy, naturally got his taste first. I could tell he loved it because he began shoveling it all into his already stuffed mouth, which is a ritual he performs with all his favorite foods. I tried to get him to slow down, but if you have a two year old who does the same thing, you know how useless that was. I then glanced at the three year old who, amazingly was doing the same thing. She's one of the picky ones, so this was great. When I finally got the chance to look at the other three, I realized I was too late. They all were finished and were headed toward the sink with their empty bowls, even the picky eight year old. So, I decided this must be one awesome cereal and I tasted it for myself. I instantly fell in love with it. The vanilla flavor actually tasted like vanilla, not some poor imitation. I even gobbled mine up, which is rare.
To top it off, Cascadian Farm Vanilla Almond Crunch only has 200 calories per serving. Only 5 of them are from fat, which is considerably low. There is no cholesterol. There are four grams of protein and three grams of fiber. Better yet, there's only sixteen grams of sugar, keeping in tradition of the other great products Cascadian Farm offers. The ingredients are, of course, all natural and the grains are all whole.
Another added benefit is that Cascadian Farm participates in the Box Tops For Education program, which helps schools across America.
All in all, as you may well have guessed, we give Cascadian Farm an A plus, plus, plus!
