One of the snacks you will catch me eating often is wheat crackers with goat cheese. The goat cheese I like to use on my crackers is the Chevrion Garlic and Herb Goat Cheese. It is full of flavor and adding it to my wheat crackers is like the perfect hearty snack for mid morning or even mid afternoon.
The Chevrion Garlic and Herb Goat Cheese come in a 4-ounce log nicely sealed shut. The cheese itself is creamy smooth with garlic and herbs throughout it, yet it is crumbly and tender. The flavor of the cheese is slightly sharp and tangy with creaminess and you can slightly taste the garlic a lot more than the herbs, but that is fine with me because I love how the garlic flavor brings out the natural cheesy flavor of the goat cheese. The cheese is made from pure goat's milk and contains a healthy amount of protein.
The way I love to eat the goat cheese is by scooping up some and spreading it onto crackers because it is a soft cheese and than eating them up. The type of wheat flavored crackers this cheese goes well with are ranch, herbed, garlic, parmesan, tomato and basil and simply plain. I personally prefer too just use plain wheat crackers so I can really taste the flavor of the goat cheese. However, my boyfriend loves spreading the goat cheese onto wheat flavored ranch crackers and I have to say I tried it and I am in love with how tasty ranch crackers and goat cheese taste together.
The other way we enjoy eating the Chevrion Garlic and Herb Goat Cheese is by crumbing it over a leafy green salad with fresh vegetable, crotons and avocado ranch dressing. The cheese adds flavor and heartiness to the salad, which is perfect when we are not overly hungry but know we still need to eat something healthy.
I would recommend the Chevrion Garlic and Herb Goat Cheese to anyone who loves soft creamy sharp and tangy herbed flavored cheeses. I know I simply cannot get enough of this cheese. The price of the cheese is high, but that does not bother me because of how good it taste. I do hope those of you who try this goat cheese out too like it as much as I do, which I am sure you will if you love a good cheese and cracker snack.
