Product Review: Clairol 599 Ultra Light Natural Blonde

Review on At Home Hair Color Product by Clairol

Okay, I admit it. I dye my hair. A lot of us do. That is why there are so many different hair coloring brands on the market. All claim they have either color locking formulas, extra conditioning, multi tones, extra shine or cover gray hair. Not all of the brands live up to the claims they stake. Clairol 599 Ultra Natural Blonde seems to stand firm in theirs.

This light blonde shade gives you the Marilyn Monroe or Girls Next Door look without bleaching. This color does not fade and needs only to be reapplied when your roots grow in.

Each package contains one application of permanent hair color. It comes in a green and white box. For this light shade you must be sure the box has 599 Ultra Light Natural Blonde written on it. It is one of the lightest shades they have out on the market.

To apply hair color, you must do a strand test first, to see how long you must leave the color in for the desired result you want. Mix bottle 1 and tube number 2 and shake well until completely mixed. Then apply hair color to unwashed hair. Wait time indicated by the strand test and rinse. Then you apply the color locking conditioner. You will have enough conditioner left over for three weekly treatments.

I really like Clairol for the results I get are phenomenal. The color does not fade and the conditioner leaves my hair soft.

If you're looking for an inexpensive at-home hair coloring kit, this product is for you. It's low cost, easy to apply and long lasting without damaging your hair. It also comes with a once a week treatment conditioner that's good for three weeks.

What I didn't like about this product s that if you have just over shoulder length hair or very thick hair, you have to purchase two boxes. This sucks if you don't know and go al the way home with it and apply it finding out you come up short with color.

Clairol 599 hair color can be purchased at Walmart, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Walgreen's and other miscellaneous stores. It will be locate in the hair coloring section. Its cost will run you between 3 to five dollars. This depends on where you purchase the color at.

Overall I highly recommend this product if you re looking for an inexpensive fix to your hair. I have used this product off and on over the years and have no complaints.
