Product Review: Coach All Leather Classic Basic Bag
Coach also offers several other styles of soft glove tanned leather cowhide bags, but the Classic Basic Bag has a rectangular shape with dimensions of 11 inches x 7 inches x 2-1/4 inches so that it easily sits on a table or counter -- I would never let it touch the floor! The size is ideal for carrying most ladies' necessities without being so big that it becomes cumbersome or overly heavy. Inside, there is an open pocket stitched to one side to make necessities easy to retrieve. The bound leather edges provide a finished look that sets it apart from ordinary leather handbags that can be found in department and discount stores. There is no mistaking a Coach Basic Bag for anything less.
The Coach Basic Bag can be worn hanging from one shoulder, or hung from an opposite shoulder, across the body. The original Coach Basic Bag attached the shoulder strap to the handbag with a sewn leather piece. It has been improved to prevent wear on the leather piece, causing the strap to tear, by adding detachable metal rings for convenience and adding the short strap for women who prefer to carry it as a clutch.
I may be old fashioned in a time when people are shunning their furs (I don't own anything made of animal fur, by the way) but I just prefer leather when it comes to handbags. The natural look of the mahogany color reminds me of saddle leather and the soft texture and shine of the leather makes this bag casual but still classic so that it can be worn with anything. Many women like to change handbags daily to match their outfits. That has never been my style. I am not a fan of changing styles; I like classic, basic comfort. The Coach Basic Bag fills that need for me, and the older it gets, the better the leather looks. I wish I could say the same about myself!

Post a CommentI end up getting the Lily Leather Medium Satchel being that I can't get my refund, but I can assure you that I will boycott Coach and this will be my last bag I purchase from them, I had purchased so many of their products from the past and this is how they treat their customer, I never had any problems with other designer bags and if I do they would take it back without a question asked.
I just purchased a bag from coach that cost me $798 (Hampton Vintage Leather), after using it twice it started to hurt my shoulder and arm because that bag was too heavy, so i brought it back to the store for a refund or exchange but the manager said they cannot give me a refund due to the bag had already been used so i did an exchange, first i picked the Coach soho leather and they gave me the one on displayed so i told her i don't want it then i picked the Lily Leather Medium Satchel in bucskin and they told me they only have the one on displayed so i asked her if she has another color then she said she has one in black but that is also the last one left but not on displayed, I was really upset so I called them after i came back to the office and pretend i was someone calling to look for the Lily Leather Medium Satchel in bucskin and they told me they have it in the store so i asked her why she told me before that she only has one left and the girl on the phone said it was an error d
I like everything Coach makes. Can't afford much, but I like thier products.
I have to say, I just bought my first Dooney and Bourke purse and I love it. I never thought I would spend that much on a bag to carry my stuff. Coach is the next level. I'll make it there one day. Great Review!
