I chose LashBlast Fusion in the Black-Brown color. I was pleased with the packaging - this mascara comes in a purple tube, and purple is one of my favorite colors, so I figured the product inside couldn't be too bad. I went home and removed the mascara I was currently wearing. I decided to try the LashBlast Fusion without any eyelash primer - I wanted to give it a chance to stand on its own. I applied one coat to each eye, and was sorely disappointed. I looked like I had no product on! So, I tried a second coat, only to see little improvement.
The next day, I decided to give this mascara another try, but this time I chose to use a lash primer first. I chose MAC's Prep + Prime Lash, which is one of the best lash primers on the market. After applying the lash primer, I put on one coat of CoverGirl's LashBlast Fusion mascara. I was again disappointed, as the first coat of this mascara did little to nothing for my lashes. A second coat of the product revealed the same results as the day before. I covered the sad results of my little mascara experiment with some MAC mascara, and went about my day.
Not being one to take defeat easily, (or maybe just a glutton for punishment), I tried this product a third time. I again used MACs Prep + Prime Lash primer. I figured I'd give the LashBlast Fusion a third chance to impress me. Maybe my eyelashes were just having a couple of bad days, and the third day would be better. Unfortunately, I saw the same results from the third day's application of this mascara. I then gave up the fight, and decided to return to my old mascara (review of that product coming soon!). Apparently, I am not alone in my failure to make the LashBlast Fusion work for me - several online makeup reviewers have given this product a thumbs-down.
If you would like to try your hand at CoverGirl's LashBlast Fusion mascara to see what it can do for you, you can pick some up at your local drugstore for around $9, or purchase from Drugstore.com for $8.99 and free shipping on orders of more than $25.
