Product Review: Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker

Pressure cookers are amazing products. They reduce cooking time by up to 70%, retain nutrients better than other cooking methods, and today's models are very safe to use.

The Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker is a sleek, stainless-steel model with a digital display. Besides its attractive appearance, the Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker has many positive features:

1. Safety. It features seven different safety devices to prevent accidents. Most importantly, the lid locks while under pressure and cannot be removed until the pressure cooker reaches a safe level. Correct pressure is also maintained during cooking.

2. Pressure Releases. Two forms of pressure releases are available: quick and natural.

3. Keep Warm Feature: After cooking time has completed, the Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker switches to a keep warm function so that food will not continue to cook at high pressure.

4. Dishwasher safe. The removable cooking pot is safe to wash in a dishwasher.

5. Great customer service. Cuisinart customer service representatives are helpful and easy to reach.

6. Price. Costs under $100.

Conversely, the Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker has two negative features:

1. Not a canner. This device does not double as a pressure canner.

2. Lack of notice at end of cycle. After the pressure has decreased and it is safe to open the lid, the only indicator is the small click of the lid unlocking. It would be more convenient if it beeped, since the click can be hard to hear if you're not listening for it.

I would personally recommend this to anyone searching for a pressure cooker. My only advice would be to find an additional pressure cooker cookbook, as the recipes that come with the instruction manual will only get you through a couple of weeks!
