Product Review: DiGiorno Frozen Pizzas

Angelie MacKenzie
With so many different brands and types of frozen pizzas in the store, it can be difficult to determine which ones really are good. Most frozen pizzas have issues. Some skimp so much on the toppings that it's really a cheese pizza, making it a big rip-off. Some have almost no crust or the crust is so hard that no one would want to eat it. And then some frozen pizzas are just plain nasty. If I'm going to eat pizza, I generally prefer Pizza Hut's supreme pan pizza. However, I avoid eating out as much as possible. And besides, Pizza Hut's pizza is somewhat greasy.

DiGiorno offers a nice alternative to the greasy takeout pizzas. If you like those personal sized pizzas, Red Baron has the best ones. They even cook right in the microwave. However, I believe DiGiorno has come out with a personal pizza that has to be cooked in the oven. But when it comes to the full sized pizzas to serve your family, DiGiorno frozen pizzas are definitely the best.

A pizza isn't a complete meal by itself. A tossed salad makes a great side dish for pizza. Simply throw together a bag of mixed lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers.

DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza

DiGiorno rising crust pizzas really do rise like shown in the commercials. This makes them taste better than other frozen pizzas. I prefer the supreme pizza, which has pepperoni, sausage, onions, green peppers, black olives, etc. This is my all time favorite frozen pizza. Actually, it's the only frozen pizza that I'll eat. Other frozen pizzas tend to taste like cardboard.

DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust Supreme Pizza

One time when the grocery store didn't have the DiGiorno rising crust supreme pizza, I bought the DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust supreme pizza. The toppings were fine, but the crust... The crust was so hard that I was afraid I'd crack a tooth. It isn't that I cooked it too much - that's just how the crust comes out. I can't imagine anyone likes this pizza.

DiGiorno Rising Crust Chicken Supreme Pizza

My mom once bought the DiGiorno rising crust chicken supreme pizza by mistake instead of the regular supreme pizza. I didn't like this pizza at all. If you've had chicken on a pizza before and know that you like it then this is the pizza for you. But I don't recommend anyone try this pizza out of curiosity as neither of us liked it.

DiGiorno is probably the worst frozen pizza out there! Even the cheap Totino's is better.

Great review, very honest! I see the DiGiorno Pizzas everytime I go to the grocery store and always wanted to get one to try but never new which kind to get. I think I might give the Rising Crust Supreme a try.
