Product Review: DiGiorno Garlic Bread Crust Frozen Pizza

Since going vegetarian several years ago, pizza has become a staple of my diet. I enjoy eating pizza on a regular basis, but ordering from Pizza Hut or the local pizza place can become expensive quickly. I've tried frozen pizzas from the grocery store in the past, and I have never been very impressed. The sauce is usually too sweet, the cheese doesn't melt well, and the taste and texture of the crust definitely leave something to be desired. So when my boyfriend picked up a new DiGiorno Garlic Bread Crust Pizza, I wasn't expecting to be very impressed.

The box said that the crust of this DiGiorno pizza had an "authentic garlic bread taste." I do enjoy having garlic bread when I cook spaghetti or other pasta, so I decided to give the pizza a try. The instruction on the box instructed me to place the frozen pizza directly on the oven rack for a crispier crust, so that is the preparation option I chose. Within 25 minutes, my pizza was piping hot, and I have to admit that the DiGiorno Garlic Bread Crust Pizza looked and smelled a heck of a lot better when it came out of the oven than most other frozen pizzas I have tried in the past.

After allowing the DiGiorno pizza to cool for a few minutes, I sliced it for my boyfriend & I to eat for dinner. The box says you can get 10 slices, but we were hard pressed to get 8 decent sized slices from the pizza. After putting some freshly grated parmesan cheese on top of the DiGiorno pizza, I took my first bit. I have to say I was quite impressed. The crust was crispy and did definitely have a distinct garlic flavor. But the garlic flavor wasn't overpowering as I have experienced with other frozen products. The sauce on the Garlic Bread Crust pizza was seasoned well and was not too sweet, and the cheese melted completely and even browned up a little in the oven.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the DiGiorno Garlic Bread Crust frozen pizza. It was tasty and satisfying, and at $6.99 at the grocery, it was definitely cheaper than ordering pizza for delivery. I have had this particular DiGiorno pizza several times now, and I have to say it is the best frozen pizza I have ever tried. So if you are looking for a quick, easy, and inexpensive dinner option for you or your family, head to your local store and pick up a DiGiorno Garlic Bread Crust pizza from the freezer section.
