Product Review - Dirt Devil Kurv

I was so excited when I started seeing the new designer line for Dirt Devil. I have used one in my home for a while, but always kept it hidden because quite frankly, it was ugly! It worked but was not feng shui. Needless to say, I had to have the Kurv, and sure enough, my wonderful hubby got me one for Christmas. Now he did not buy it as a hint, but because he knew I wanted one and I waited so that he had a few options for my Christmas gifts.

I love it! This little wonder employs all the ingenuity of my old handheld but with a sleek design that I can leave out. I personally love the Chocó-latte because it matches the color scheme for my home, but all four colors are awesome. This is just as easy to empty as previous handhelds, and being bag less is a great convenience. I am also very impressed with the 3 year warranty. I love having this assurance because I have small children and you never know what will happen.

I was really amazed that I would not have to sacrifice suction power for the design. What surprised me is how much of the little things Kurv will pick up. With small children, I tend to notice small things on the floor all the time, and sometimes I don't want to pull out my upright, so I pull out the Kurv. This thing will pick up hair, lint, dirt, and even the tiny paper shreds that spill when you dump the shredder.

Battery life was one area that didn't impress me. When I first got it I was probably over enthused, running around using it everywhere I could think of that needed cleaned and the battery started to drain. But I suppose that it is not intended for long term use like that, hence why it comes with a sleek charger to recharge in between messes.

One of the major downfalls of the Kurv is the size of the nozzle. It is considerably smaller than my previous model which means that it may take more time to clean an area. On the plus side to this, the smaller nozzle increases the suction. So I guess it is a catch 22. However, this size discrepancy did not make enough of a difference for me not to recommend it. I do recommend this to anyone who hates dragging out the upright for a small mess. I also love the other additions to the Dirt Devil Designer Series, you can check out all the models, including the Kurv at dritdevil.com and find stores near you.
