Product Review of Dole Fruit Crisp
Dole Has Added a New Fruit Cup to the Shelves of Food Stores. Is is Bad, Good or Great? Read the Review and Decide for Yourself
The other day, while shopping in the larger of the two Publix supermarkets, I walked down the aisle of shelves filled with individual plastic cups of fruit. I enjoy a cup of fruit after dinner was looking for cups of assorted fruits. My eye instantly noticed a new fruit package. It was from Dole. It contained two cups of fruit inside the Dole outer wrap, one on top of each other, instead side by side. It caught my eye.
I lifted it from the shelve and looked at it a closer. The name said Dole Fruit Crisp, Apple Cinnamon - 2 bowls inside. The package also wrote to Try it Warm. I liked it immediately. I looked closer and read that it was all natural fruit, rich in Vitamin C and made with Whole Grain Oats. I would have bought it anyway, but this made it sound very healthy.
I figured if the package said it would taste good straight from the refrigerator or warmed up in the microwave, I was going to warm it top it with whipped cream. My taste buds were awakening. I bought one package to try.
I could hardly wait to finish my dinner to eat it. The outer container has a pull tag hanging out. I pulled it because it said to pull it. I always listen to a paper container package. With one swift pull, the top fruit bowl slid out easily. That was great! I did not have to struggle with the Dole Fruit Crisp Apple Cinnamon packaging.
All I had to do was to separate the top from the bottom of the Dole's Fruit Crisp container. It was easy even with arthritis in my fingers. The crunch crisps were in one container and the fruit in the other. I could not wait to taste the Dole Fruit Crisp Apple Cinnamon . My mouth was watering from the aroma.
I added the container of the crunch to the Apple Cinnamon as was instructed and topped it with whipped cream . It smelled delicious and tasted even better until I started feeling nauseous due to the sweetness of the Dole Fruit Crisp Apple Cinnamon.
I also thought there was too much crunch in the topping if the entire container was tossed on top of the apples. It got caught between my teeth as I ate it. I did not like that at all.
The other fault I found with this latest Dole Fruit Crisp Apple Cinnamon was it too sweet for my taste. By the time I had eaten two teaspoons I was beginning to feel a wave of nausea coming over me. Those who enjoy a heavy sweet sauce will like it. I would not recommend this for children. The sugar is not good for their teeth.
I feel sick at the thought of eating the other container. I am going to return it and send a copy of my preview to Dole. I gave this product my honest review and rated it a 1 out of 10. The package is attractive. I am not going to buy it again. It is much too sweet.
Keep in mind that this ismy honest opinion. You might enjoy it!

Post a CommentThank you Lois for asking. Yes I have been taking a break. I have been busy setting up and writing my blog. However, I have been thinking of returning and writing on this site very soon. I have a few topics to write about and post on this site. I missed you all.
I'm sorry but I disagree. However, I think your review was insightful.
I have never tried Dole Fruit Crisp, thanks for the review.
Great review. I too dislike sickeningly sweet foods. The worst culprits are those that are low fat because the company often over-sweetens them to compensate.
awesome writing!
Great review.
Good article; thanks for sharing.
I agree I'd rather cut up an apple, thanks Sondra. Are you taking a break from writing?
