Product Review: Dopp Regatta 88 Series Front Getaway Pocket

One alternative to chronic back problems is to get a front pocket wallet. They're slim, minimalistic and can greatly reduce the stress on your back when sitting down. Once I switched to the Dopp Regatta 88 Front Getaway, I never looked back.

I ordered mine from Amazon.com to replace a bursting leather trifold. It was uncomfortable to sit on, and contained my entire life within its breaking seams. I decided to see if I could do less, so after some deliberation I got the Dopp.

I have to admit that when I opened the packaging and saw just how small and slim this little wallet is, I was more than a little concerned that it would actually be useful. I was, however impressed the over the quality.

The leather is visually attractive, soft to the touch, and very strong. The wallet is extremely well constructed...after over a year in my pocket, this wallet shows no signs of major wear, and the stitching is still like new! I plan on keeping the Dopp Regatta for at least a couple more years before I even think about getting another one.

It's small, to be sure, but it doesn't lack on organizational features. There's a clear ID pocket with a convenient thumb slot for quick removal, one main cash pocket, and four other places for credit or business cards. The clear ID pocket is big enough for 3 IDs, which is really fantastic for the student. I can place my driver's license, my university ID, and my employment identification all in that one pocket.

The three credit card slits on the back of the Regatta are well spaced and make it easy to identify and get your cards, while the secondary business card pocket can hold up to 3 more credit cards or several business cards. The main cash compartment can comfortably hold up to 6 bills, as well a receipt or two with a check.

Now, if you can't manage to part with your photo album and the last three years worth of financial records, then this wallet is definitely not for you. If you'd like a healthier back, or you're just tired of carrying around so many non-essentials, then I can't recommend this product enough.
