Packaging: On first glance, it looks like any other bag of Dorito's, but then you notice the split down the middle, the 2 clearly different colors, and flavors. I had no intentions of purchasing chips, so apparently it had powers of persuasion.
Pricing: These are priced at about the same of any other price of a name brand bag of chips, at about $2.50 for a 12oz bag. At only about $0.21 per serving, that makes them a pretty affordable snack choice. the Kroger stores where I live frequently put the Dorito's brand chips on special for three bags for $5.00, so if you catch one of these sales, you get a big extra value!
Nutrition: A 1oz serving has 150 calories, with about half of those calories dedicated to fat. These chips make a fairly moderate blow to your diet and daily values. Dieters will appreciate the zero grams of trans fat , only 8 grams of fat overall, and 11 grams of sodium.
Taste: I was somewhat iffy at first, being unsure of how the two very different flavors would come together. I was pleasantly surprised. The Zesty Taco had an unmistakable Tex-Mex flavor that kept me coming back for more. The slight taste of the Chipotle Ranch was evident as well, adding a little extra bite. With those, it was the same pleasing combo, only reversed. Somehow, although I can not really be sure how, these chips managed to maintain their own separate flavors, while at the same time melding together for perfection. I even tried guessing which flavor was which without looking first.
Overall: The Dorito's Collisions are moderately priced, easy on calories, and high on taste, making them an excellent snack choice.

Post a CommentI discovered Zesty Cheese Doritos a month ago and I just love them. Unfortunately, I have now confirmed that eating a half bag or more of them gives me a strange acid taste in my mouth that I get the next day after eating other things and this can happen the second and third day later as well -- without consuming any more Doritos. I have had acid reflux in the past but this taste change seems different. I wonder if anyone else has experienced strange taste changes after eating Doritos Zesty Cheese tortilla chips.
Zesty taco are awesome, but I also found their great taste is an instigator for acid reflux in me and can't eat the damn things.
hell yeah they should of made cooler ranch and nacho cheese ya digg
