The bottles each have six parts: the bottle itself, a nipple, a nipple collar, an internal vent and vent reservoir, and a cap. These parts come with all standard bottles, except for the vent and vent reservoir. Together, they allow air to enter through the nipple collar without going into the breast milk or formula. The air is then passed through the reservoir and sits above the milk. Babies will feed more comfortably and for longer periods because they are not dealing with a vacuum.
There are five different types of Dr. Brown's bottles available. There is the two-ounce standard bottle, four-ounce standard bottle, and eight-ounce standard bottle. The four-ounce and the eight-ounce can also be purchased with a wide neck. This just depends on personal preference, as all bottles come equipped with the vent. There are also different types of nipples available. The Level One nipple is designed for newborns. Level Two Nipples are designed for infants three months and older. Level Three Nipples are for more aggressive feeders, usually six months and over. There are Y-Cut Nipples that accommodate thicker liquids, such as cereal and there are Preemie Nipples designed obviously, for preemies. Replacement parts are also available, should the pieces that come with every Dr. Brown's bottle become lost or worn. The vents and reservoirs can both be purchased separately and cleaning brushes are also available for cleaning those tube-like reservoirs that would be near impossible to clean otherwise.
I don't promise that Dr. Brown's bottles will completely make any baby's colic a thing of the past. But they definitely will make for a happier baby and happier parents. Within two days, I saw a complete change in my daughter who couldn't even eat without having seemingly endless spit ups afterwards and being cramped up with gas before we invested in these bottles. They are a little more expensive than other standard bottles on the market but the couple extra dollars is completely worth it when you're baby can enjoy their meal and parents can enjoy a happy baby afterwards.

Post a CommentThis review has greatly inclined me towards the use of Dr. Brown's bottles. It's clear in the benifits of using this brand. The nipple on the bottle seems to be the only down side. But it's worth the try to keep baby from such terrible discomforts.
Awesome review! I am sure this will help someone immensely! Very thorough and well written, good job.
