What it is:
ElectroMIXTM is a dietary supplement found in stores like Whole Foods and other stores that have a large dietary supplement area. ElectroMIXTM is a packet that is easily taken anywhere in a purse or bag to turn any bottle or cup of water into a sports drink. It is Lemon-Lime flavor and contains magnesium, potassium, calcium, chromium, and manganese. Unlike other sports drinks it is sugar free (calorie free) and has no artificial sweeteners. It also is sodium free for those on a low sodium diet, and for those who prefer a sports drink with sodium, it can easily be added. One packet makes one liter of sports drink, which makes each packet have four servings inside.
Pros:
ElectroMIXTM tastes great! I love the lemon-lime flavor. I also really like the fact that ElectroMIXTM doesn't have any sugar or artificial sweeteners. If you are anything like me you get frustrated with the fact that all of these ready-to-go packet drinks all have artificial sweeteners in them. I get an instant migraine from artificial sweeteners, so I have to avoid them at all costs. So, the no sugar/artificial sweeteners is a large plus for me, and even better is that it still tastes great! Another plus is that it is a good alternative for people that are on a low sodium diet who still want to drink a sports drink, or have an alternative no calorie hydration method other than water. Sodium can easily be added to your individual taste if you need or want sodium in your sports drink for electrolyte replenishment.
I really enjoy the amount and variety of electrolytes included in this drink mix. This particular mixture of electrolytes always seems to do a great job at rehydrating me. For myself I do not use it as much as a sports drink as I do an electrolyte replacement drink. For the times I feel very poorly, fatigued, and shaky I often try to make sure that I have ate and that I am properly hydrated. I have found using ElectroMIXTM packets added to a bottle of water to be a great way to rehydrate. I have found it to also be very helpful when I am getting a migraine or have a migraine. I frequently have my migraine symptoms either greatly decreased by drinking water mixed with ElectroMIXTM. The reason for this likely being that I was dehydrated, and that magnesium is a well known to help decrease migraine symptoms. I realize if you sweat a lot and are using it more for a sports drink that you may need more sodium. So, that is something to decide on a personal basis on whether or not to add sodium. I think that anyone that needs help with electrolyte replacement should consider ElectroMIXTM sports drink packets.
Cons:
Things that I would change are have more varieties with different flavors and some varieties with sodium already added.
Disclaimer:
Because it is a dietary supplement and people can be on a variety of diets, make sure to use it as directed and to consult with your doctor before using. Too much of any electrolyte can do more harm than good, so make sure to use it as directed.
