5 shake style plastic cups
5 lids for serving
2 blade lids for blending and mixing
1 small blending cup for blending nuts
4 secure grip pads for the cups
I really didn't want to spend $29.99 on this but as I was shopping around, most blenders came with a hefty price, anyway. This even included those that were used. I thought what the heck, I am going to go ahead and give this a try. I loved the convenience of making one smoothie at a time. That way when I have company over and they wanted other ingredients from the ones that I choose for their smoothie, it would be easier to create their preferred concoction.
This smoothie blender has been nothing but fun for my kids and I. They were just as excited about it as I was. Well maybe not as much, but they are pretty excited to try new recipes. I am especially happy that I can get my oldest son to finally eat some good healthy fruits! Smoothies are about like milk shakes. He loves them, so Momma is happy!
I have made a few different types of smoothies. I basically just throw in my favorite fruits and add either yogurt or milk. I also like to use Sunny Delight. Their website has smoothie recipes that look yum! I have tried to make my own veggie smoothie, but didn't like it.
I found a recipe for a strawberry chocolate smoothie that I am going to do tomorrow for Valentine's Day. It just consists of soy chocolate milk (sure you can use regular, but some of us are dieting), strawberries and a splash of chocolate topping. This will all be wonderfuly blended in my new Elite Blender.
You can chop nuts and grate cheeses as well. I haven't tried this, yet, but I definitely will. The machine itself, has a pulse button. You have to hold to blend. I love it because I have complete control over it. Another thing to remember when you are making smoothies in general is to freeze the fruit instead of use ice. I noticed that this is the best way. I read this somewhere and they are right, it prevents the smoothie from being watered down.
