The sample case on the back said "Achieve an even more spectacular result with the EXCEPTIONNEL application technique on: www.exceptionnel.com". Going to the website it asks your language, and country. Then the webpage proceeds to load a lengthy flash that tends to lock people's computers up. You need to click on the bottom where it says "Application Technique". It shows you nothing more then how you are to rotate the brush as you stroke it upward and outward on your eyelashes, attempting to create the curl yourself. I was very disappointed in the flash design. They could have made it a .gif to load faster, and not lock people up, but they wanted to try to make everything look like the top of the line.
The sample I received was 10 SMOKY NOIR Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense and Curl Mascara. Inside the packaging it explained exactly what the webpage above did.
1. Place at lash base.
2. Rotate brush outward.
3. Stretch to lash end.
I loved the feel of the Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense and Curl Mascara brush on my eyelashes. It felt as though it was truly sticking to the hairs. It is the first, and only time I have ever felt a applicator brush suction to my lashes so tightly. I almost worried it was going to pull them out as I rotated the brush outward to attempt to create its so called curl.
I thought I might have some problems when I pulled the applicator out of the tube, it took more strength then I expected, and you could hear every bristle fling past the edge of the tube. Yet it was COATED in the mascara somehow.
The applicator brush of Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense and Curl Mascara has a 3 brush side to create intense lash volume, and 3 combs to separate and curl lashes, or so it claimed on the paper work. I was about to test this.
When you put Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense, and Curl Mascara on, you feel a bit odd, doing it differently then what you are use to. I noticed no curl what-so-ever using Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense, and Curl Mascara. I didn't notice any volume effect either. In fact I noticed the exact opposite. My lashes were spread wider then before, looking thin and pokey. They pointed straight outward, and left me with a slight look of surprise. It was good in the respects it really opened up my eyes, but Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense and Curl Mascara flakes off! I can't stand mascara that flakes off. I was shocked, disappointed and mad. I mean come on, Chanel is meant to be top of the line, or so I thought.
I'd rate Exceptionnel De Chanel Volume Intense and Curl Mascara 2 out of 5 stars, as it didn't deliver on its promises and flakes off. Don't waste your money on this mascara when there are others, that I am sure are a lot cheaper that won't flake off, and WILL curl your lashes.
