Product Review: The Face Shop Eye Liner Pencil Navy Blue

Beckie Yoon
The Face Shop is famous for its natural ingredients in its cosmetics. As I was passing by the Face Shop, I noticed that they had an Eye Liner pencil around that was made of natural ingredients! They claimed that it was better off for my skin, and much healthier than the other products out there. While I was skeptical I purchased the eyeliner in navy blue from the counter since I wanted to see how it would work, and the quality of its product.

The eyeliner does not look much different from any other eyeliner from the drugstore or any other cosmetic store, and the price range that it is in is around the same as another drugstore brand. The difference is only in its ingredients. This eyeliner, however, does not seem to be used up easily, and in fact, one eyeliner pencil will last for quite a long time so you really won't have to make another trip to the store soon.

This eyeliner pencil doesn't smudge when you apply it at all; in fact, the texture and quality of the pencil forces you to apply a bit of a pressure; however, the color is simply gorgeous! The eyeliner applies evenly, and will rest at the place you drew at. However, you may have to draw a couple of times on the same line in order to get a nice color to it because the color doesn't seem to show easily. When you get the color to show though, it is simply gorgeous, and definitely a wonderful product to use in the future. The eyeliner is capable of drawing a wonderfully sharp line, and the eyeliner pencil stays relatively sharp throughout; the texture on the skin is smooth.

The eyeliner does not seem to have any negative reactions with my skin. It does not seem to cause any wrinkles or aggravate my skin at all. I did notice that if I rubbed my eyes, the eyeliner would easily smudge or fade away. It's not smudge-proof, and it would also fairly easily wash away so you definitely cannot go swimming at all. Over time, I notice that at times (especially if it's a hot day), the color will slowly fade away.

In general, the eyeliner is of pretty good quality, and while I have not yet seen a difference between naturally made eyeliner and chemically made eyeliner, it's not of too bad quality. Personally I wouldn't purchase another one because I don't like having to draw a couple of times on the same line in order to get a quality colored line. Also, I don't like the fact that it smudges off easily. Other than that, it's not too bad at all.
