Product Review: The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn to Toddler Tub
Bathe Your Baby Safely and Securely
There are many options for giving your newborn a bath, but few are as safe and practical as The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn to Toddler Tub. This tub can be purchased for only $15-20 dollars at Babies R Us as well as many other stores. For $20, what you actually get is a tub that will grow with your child from the day she is born until she is at least a year old, maybe even longer!
The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn to Toddler Tub comes in Pink or Blue so you can get whatever color suits your child. It doesn't really matter though - both tubs are identical otherwise! The color difference is purely cosmetic. We have the Pink tub, but if our second baby is a boy we will still use it. He won't even know the difference at that age.
Newborns can use this tub right away due to the mesh sling that attaches securely on to the tub. This allows your baby to float above the tub, out of the water. When a baby is first born, you are not supposed to soak them in water because of their umbilical cord hasn't fallen off yet. The sling makes it easy to still clean your baby while they are cradled in a hammock-type position outside of the water. At this age, I'd fill the tub with just enough water for me to clean her and bathe her anywhere - living room, her bedroom, anywhere that made sense.
Infants can be placed in the reclined part of the tub until they learn to hold their head up. Just like a high chair or car seat, your infant will be comfortably laying back while you bathe her. There is a raised spot in the middle of the tub that keeps your infant from sliding down into the water. The tub fits into my kitchen sink so when she was younger I would set it in there so I could stand up and easily bathe her. She couldn't touch anything in or around the sink so I felt it was sanitary.
Babies and Toddlers can use this tub until they are too big to fit in it! The other side of the tub is a seated position that supports your little one as they play and splash in a full tub of water. I'll be using this with my baby until she simply doesn't fit anymore because I like that it keeps her confined in a small space rather than in the openness of the entire tub. Once she started getting bigger and splashing around, I started putting this tub inside my adult bath tub so she is extra secure and the water doesn't get everywhere.
The First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn to Toddler Tub will help you save time and water as well! Rather than filling up a whole bath tub to give your baby a bath, you just fill up this little tub. It literally fills up in seconds! It's also safer than filling up a big bath tub with water because your baby has less room to move around or get lost under the water.
Check out this tub today and you will not be disappointed! Forget about bathing your baby directly in the kitchen sink (which is dirty!), or the adult bath tub (which is big and dangerous!). Instead, invest in this tub to keep your baby safe and clean for as long as you can.
