The go kart runs off regular gas, and standard oil (10w30 is specified). As stated above, this thing is a blast. It possesses enough power to haul both me and my son around turns, up and down hills, and blasting through the woods. I found it slightly unnerving letting him drive the first few times. Picture me gripping the roll cage in a white -knuckled death grip as my son laughs gleefully.
Getting the go kart home was not a problem as we had access to a full size pickup. To my knowledge they did not have any that were not fully assembled, so if you're thinking about getting one, you'll need a way to haul it. It fits very neatly in the back of a full size pick up, with some room left over.
The fuel mileage seems to be very good so far. We've run it quite a bit and only had to full up the tank twice. The go kart's fuel tank itself is pretty small, which is good with gas prices skyrocketing.
I made sure we purchased a helmet for my son before we let him ride; it has the roll cage, but there's no point in taking chances.
This go kart is intended for beginner to intermediate karters. For more experienced riders, you'll want a higher powered engine. They had them on hand past 800cc's. These are for experienced go kart racers, so don't jump into one of these rigs without knowing what you're doing.
To sum up, this go kart has plenty of room and plenty of power for my son as he grows. It is straightforward and easy to work on, and parts are available from TCS or Fox Go Karts. The three year warranty on the engine is great, also. It has great safety features, and is tons of fun. I would highly recommend this for any beginner karter.
